Good morning, all.

Good morning chicken wranglers,
We are expecting turkeys ducks and calves.
Moonshine calved a bull calf over the weekend. Now I have 3heifers and 2 cows all should be calving sometime in the next 2 months.
The ducks and turkeys are for thanksgiving dinner. How was your fourth every body?
Mine was busy, mowing, mending moving cows and weeding. Nothing new for me just the usual work. We did light a few crackers and what not sparklers for the kids ,they all got excited and we let them camp in the side yard.
All was good and all is well .
God Bless!

Gues I should have caught up before I posted ,Ya,ll give your wives a lot of credit but I'm sure "from experience that success is a two way street, and we all have to work at making it work. But that said my wife is a saint and she does well to tolerate me!

Afternoon people,

I have to ask, any Scandinavian ancestry in you with that name?

Felix from Finland
The story goes that my father worked with a man by the name of Kaj. I considered myself a "mutt", by as far as I know I don't have any Scandinavian ancestry in me.

On another note, if the better half and myself registered ourselves, we could join the DAR & SAR. She goes back to the Mayflower and I go back to the mid 1600's.

looks like a storm is brewing from the west. Leaves are flipping and getting humid.

Enjoy your day

Well, it's a name of Swedish origin, means "dock" or "quay".

Today was a day of new experiences, we processed our first roo. He was getting a bit aggressive towards people, so now he has a new home in the refrigerator.

The coop feels a lot roomier now.

Morning people,

Felix: I worked for some Norwegians a while back, they were in their early 70's. Great people and they happy with my name. His name was Torre or Tore. When I was first hired they came in to meet me, they thought I was also might be Norwegian.
Felix: Unless I missed it, what kind of birds do you have?

Karl: sounds like you are building up a farmer's life...... good for you.

RngrBill: How's your chickens coming along

Sourland: Any more field trails? Do you do racoons?

I tried my hand again with cucumber pickles last night. My first batch came out all mushy/soft. This time I didn't use the hot water bath. They should be ready when the kids come over this weekend. Looks like we are having a house full on Sunday. Both daughters and then some, "the son we are glad we never had" and families are coming over.
I am looking for a motel room

After just answering the same question a minute ago, I'll just copypaste my answer.

We have 6 pullets, and after processing our alfa roo who was getting aggressive towards people yesterday, 2 roos.

This is our flock. Taneli on the far left is currently living in our refrigerator. The one closest to the camera is a Black Copper Marans, the two black ones on the right (and Taneli) are Marans-Araucana mutts, the one closest to the post is a roo. Then we have two Speckled Sussexes (one is a roo, the spotted brown and white one, and the all brown is a pullet) and three Finnish Alho landraces.

Yeah, Norwegians tend to be very friendly and positive people in my experience. Not as negative and quiet as us Finns, who usually consider "Grrumph" a productive conversation

Pickles I don't like. Why on earth must there always be pickles in hamburgers?

Good morning chicken wranglers,
\Felix that is quite a nice flock.
Q you are right ,I feel it now, I purchased a stock wagon last night. It needs new tires and a paint job, the title "binder schloss, and all will be copacetic, or what ever.
We are building quite a stock line at the home stead. Have a great reunion with the family over the week end.
God Bless!
