Opa hit the nail on the head. Ihave been raising kids for 25 years and Ihave a good 14 years left until the youngest turns 18.
Last night he was sick and had me worried all night !I'd wake up as soon as I heard him stir .Well of coarse my wife was already awake
That momma instinct had her up before He even stirred i suppose. Ihave to listen to the banter between brothers 5 years appart and it seems unbearable at times, but what will I do when they are gone ?I'll be 65 when the youngest is 18 the wife and I wont know what to do.
We have been working together for the last 12 years with the kids in the office until they were three, and now the 4 year old only 2 days a week even the office will seem empty.We will have to get to know 1 another in a diferent way as we will have to have fun all the time!Have a great day !

Morning all! Interesting about how hard it is when your kids grow up. I never thought it would hit so hard. Maybe even harder on me since I homeschool. I went thru a period of mourning each time I graduated one. I'll never forget when my second one finished his last test and was done forever. All I could do is take the test from him and turn around so he couldn't see the tears streaming down my face. I was faking that I was scoring it, I couldn't even SEE it because of the tears! Wow. I still miss schooling them so much. Anybody got a tissue?

Good morning all.

Having that second cup, ahhhhhhhhhh, I sure do love my morning Coffee.
I know you guys are sick of rain. I on the other hand am very thank full that at long last the winter rains have started. The old tarp that I had over The roost area, was so sun rotted, it was not giving much protection. I went to the city yesterday and remembered to get a new one. When i went out to check on the chickens around 5:00pm. i decided I would change it, then and there, as it was not raining right then. so i did. It took me longer than I had thought. It was dark and had started to rain when I finished. I sure was glad that I decided to do it. I guess by Thurs. we are to get the big storm, high winds and all.
I got some photos of the storage crates..

I had six kids, 3 boys and 3 girls. My house was never quit. When they were all in school all day, I noticed some quite. When they were all moved away, the quit was so LOUD. It took awhile to get over that. Now I don't want to live in a family neighborhood. Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but i don't want to do it all over again. i am tired.

Good morning. flock tenders, having the 2nd cup of coffee

I set up a3rd. coop yesterday for my silkies and they sure are having fun. getting out
of their temperary holding cell

they are now 4 months old.
I thought it would be another nice day today. and I could do more
I got fooled rained this morning and a bit chillier.
But its sure a nice quiet morning. and I do remember.
when the chatter was too much having 1 son and 4 girls
the girls were hard to manage with their chatter but thank goodness
they always got along and still do.

they are all like 4 peas in a pod. but our son was ill
we lost him 3 years ago.
He was our first born and the best of the best.
any one with a lot of sunshine sent it our way..

Hi everyone, I have reheated the last cup of coffee 4 times now. It is lunch time and I am still in coffee mode.

Boy , we got some much needed rain yesterday. Sun is shinning now and I need to finish securing everything in the pens as we are supposed to get some high wind and more rain tomorrow. Not sure what will hit tonight.

Sissy, sorry about your son. It is so hard loosing a child. I will remember you in my prayers.

I woke up before the alarm today, so have time to bring a cup of coffee back to bed for a few minutes before I'm up and at it. I smells so good - I swear, sometimes it's coffee's aroma that is the attraction, as much as the taste.

Well, happy day, Everyone! The sun promises to be bright today, and that always brings warm feelings and good humor. My flock will all be out in the run sunning themselves.

Good morning all!
Cup of home brewed Tully's french roast... absolutly right there. The smell of coffee is just so soothing. DH sets up a timer and the smell of it wafting down the hall just pulls me out of bed faster than an alarm ever could!

Good morning everyone. Sissy, I didn't know you lost a son. I am so sorry. I didn't know.

And that really wasn't that long ago.

Should be a sunny day here if the forecasters aren't lying again.

Strange, I can think of things I want to write and then I get on the computer and my mind goes blank! I need more coffee.
