Coffee's ready...

Good morning from Arizona, I have been gone a long time. Miss you all! I am dealing with some illness. I'm feeling some what better.

On a real happy note! I have 8 new babies. 1 egg to hatch out yet. Little momma is a black Bantam frizzle. All the eggs except one are Frizzle, as far as I can tell. She had one EE egg, It hatched 2 days ago. What a special treat for me.

Please enjoy your coffee this morning. I had my out side, it was great!

So good to see that strutting avatar! It is great to have you back, and I am sorry you have been ill. I'm off for another cup, and I'll fill up yours while I am at it, Tonopah.

Good morning chicken wranglers
Tonopah a special greeting to our own prodigal daughter gone too long from our little cyber clutch. I am sorry to hear that you have not been well and I shall pray for your speedy recovery, and congrats on the birthing.Weeded potatos last night. They were long over due.Beans and onions are looking good. My Rocks are getting fat, so butchering day will be a very good event. I must make room in the freezer for the guys.On a much larger note ,now I must put them out in the pen and build a coop that will give them temporary shelter away from the cocks that will kill them forshure. More work for dad. Have a great day God bless!

Last year my blu Banty cochin was almost pulled out from her coop
by some critter.
I call her limpy because her wing was hurt , it caused her to limp
fixed that up.
Now I had to seperate her from the flock they
almost pecked her head raw. I think
I may have a house chix in my big bird cage
if DH dosent mind ..

Have a great week end..

Oh boy, Sissy. More rain?!? I thought about a house chicken, but I'm sure my dogs would figure out a way to terrorize the poor thing. So I had 2 porch chickens for a little while. They became very tame, and still are even though they're in the "Big House" with the others. They still make a beeline for the porch when they are out of the coop.

Chicken Stock is happening on Sunday, but not sure if I'll be going now for sure.

Hope everyone has a great day, and a fabulous weekend!!!

Good afternoon everyone! Been dealing with a lot lately so I've not had time to sit with you all. Now I'm dealing with flippin lice in the coops, chickies hatching, and wondering what the heck to do with Blizzard, the hen that is NOT a hen!!!

One of our mottled javas has hatched out 7 eggs and the peeping coming from the little coop is cool. But now I wonder how many of them are roosters! Guess I'll be taking some to an auction in the future.

I've missed you all Sissy, Laura, Karl, Kismet, Tonapah. Hope you are feeling lots better soon Tonapah. Kismet, that's an interesting story about the pigeon. I'd love to know how he ended up at your house. I had one land in my yard once long ago. It was beautiful shades of blue and purple. It stood there and watched me for like 10 minutes then left. I found out later it was most likely a neighbor's bird, he lived about 1/4 mile away.

Laura, if you go to the chickenstock please give us all the details!

Sissy, I'll PM you shortly. Have a nice rest of the day everyone!

Good morning chicken wranglers
Scoop I am soarly grieved to hear of your bug troubles, hopefully I never have to deal with those critters, I remeber how it was when my kids brought them home from school. We had to use egg whites in our hair to get rid of them. Nothiung else would work, the health dp. said that lice have mutated and are resitant to over the counter remedies and only old remedies would work. Good Luck.
Man the weather is not cooperating with my gardening plans "GO Wonder Huh! Never a even break only good luck and better Luck.
I let my ducklings free sat., and the goose is still there. She follows them up to be fed and watches patiently. I am awed by her faithful gaurdianship of her adopted charges.
Well Tonopah how are you? Let us know we are anxious hear!
Goed Bless Everyone! have a great week!

morning all! coffee is almost done brewing.. trying to wake up is so hard to do.. im up every 3 hours at nite bottle feeding a miniature horse baby, whose moms milk for some reason, turned to blood. vet says mastitis.. sigh. its ok tho gigi is doing awesome and she has sure hoofed right into our hearts!!

its a ugly, rainy, cold day here in idaho. i swear we are only allowed a day or two of sunshine and then the weather has to get crappy it snowed saturda, no it didnt stick it melted as it hit the ground... then yesterday it was almost bareable out side.. it was prolly 55 degrees out.. partly cloudy.. but warm enough to get some outside work done. then there is today YUCK . all i ask is that we have 65-75 degree weather . im sooo tired of having to wear my coat outside to do chores!! GAH!
