Coffee's ready...

Morning People,
Coffee's hot and for a treat, we have whipping cream to put in it.

Weather: Low to mid 70's and clear - woke up to 57 degs and clear.

JP33: I usually just have milk in mine. Today is a rare occasion.

chics in the sun: I use shortie shorts .22 for squirrels. Keep the butt of the stock tuck tight into the cup of your shoulder. Some people say to pull the trigger, I like to squeeze it.

Had some friends over last night. 2 types of chicken, 2 salads, green beans, and for dessert, peach short cakes. Coffee, beer and wine to wash it all down with.

Getting ready for our vacation today so there is a fair amount to do. I am hoping to leave around sunrise tomorrow. I'll have to find a good size pry bar to get the better half up. Mr. Vinny (my van - real name "vinny van go" - is going along with us, so if it rains, we'll have a dry place to sleep.

Everyone enjoy the day, it's going to be one of a kind.

Good morning! Coffee tastes good today. I didn't expect my son to wake up so early, really wish he had slept in. Crazy kid was in the sun for two hours at the "Gecko Festival", didn't take a nap, then swam and ran and played with his two cousins and my friends' two wild boys till 9:30 at night. Then woke up at 6:15!! I would have bet my chickens he would sleep till at least 7:30, he was so tired when we got home. He better take a nap later. He's even fighting a little cold.

Rancher - I want some of those lav/EE/ Ameraucana chicks! I bet they will be beautiful, and have some really cool colored eggs!

Quercus - I could hold the gun okay, I just couldn't stand the way she wanted me to stand while aiming it - my back was throbing after just a few minutes. She was quite a character - living way out in nowhere, running a farm and shooting range and had raised 11 kids! If she told you to stand a certain way, you stood that way, no arguing. I'm sure I'll try again soon - my brother hunts some.

We had chicken on the grill, too, and some fresh guacamole I made - that is one of my favorite foods. I have a knack for picking out the bwar, perfectly ripened avocados and my guac is famous among my friends.

Well, today is cleaning day. We are even taking everything out of the kitchen cabinets and wiping them all down, and putting some boric acid in the corners. We've found a few little roaches lately. Don't judge me, it's Florida.

Have a great day, chicken hearders.

Ain't that the truth !

Boric acid is the best

The key is to make sure you apply it as a fine misting dust. If it goes down too thick, the roaches will just walk around it. We use it just inside of all our doors to kill any that come in from children who don't shut the doors tightly. Those are normally the BIG ones. The little bitty German ones come from grocery store bags or in the boxes that SAMS uses to pack up your groceries in .. . . . They are terrible hitch hikers !

It is a BIG Florida or Georgia thing. I have relatives in NC. They very rarely had to deal with roaches. Instead, they had issues with Rats. . . . . I am not sure which is worse . . .

ALSO, BORAX (made from boric acid) is great to throw down on your carpets for FLEAS. Drys out their shells and kills them and the eggs. I have a exterminator give me that trick YEARS ago.

Morning People,

Coffee's on and breakfast is on the road.

Weather: Mid to upper 70's, partly cloudy. Woke up to 48 deg outside, 62 deg inside, and clear in both places.

We use boric acid (12 mule) to take care of our ant problem and yellow jackets. We either mix it in sugar water or with peanut butter. About a week to 10 days later, the problem is resolved.

I am just acquiring a taste for avocados. I have always eaten it, like the innards (green stuff) in lobsters, but never thought twice about it. Maybe since I quit smoking a few years back, I can taste it.

Good news for everyone, I won't be rambling or tormenting you on here for about a week. Your eyes can have a rest. Bad news tho, when we get back, stories...............

Everyone be safe and enjoy your days

Good Morning!
Took all afternoon to do the kitchen, but now it is so clean and organized. Math Ace - Yeah, fleas control was the first time I used Borax, but now luckily I only have hard wood and tile floors, and one rug in the living room but it is an antique and I don't think I would put boric acid on it. The kitchen had these really tiny roaches. We aren't sure if they were baby German roaches, or a seperate kind. None of the great bing ones, luckily. My cat hunts those. We will see if we now get little dead ones all over the place.

I know I'd never be nomited for any Good Housekeeping awards, but I do try and keep things reasonably clean.

We'll miss you, Quercus, and have a great vacation!
Thanks for the tea, fluffy, I like tea once I've gotten my coffee fix first.

Today I have to finish cleaning the rest of the house, then we are going kayaking and over to my parents to bar b que. Happy Labor Day!

I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee. Trying to warm up - it was 42 outside, 62 inside. I'm not ready for temperaatures quite that low. My stupid keyboaard - the a doesn't cooperate all the time!
