You have really nice kids Tartannik
Chicks - you think thats bad about the car!!!!!! Here in N.Ireland it was terrible when I first arrived. Things like if the Bank phoned up they would NOT talk to me even though we have a joint account!!! I was the "little woman" in doors I wouldn;t "understand!" Such things. Same with utility bill companies and the mortgage etc!
Lots of my friends had the same experiences. Now like your BF my DH just says Ask the boss! Meaning me!!!! Trouble with that is when things go belly up I get the blame!
Still better than the way things were 20yrs ago. At least I can talk to someone on the end of the phone about our bills and stuff without them insisting on me running along and getting the husband!!!! - I find that kind of attitude really insulting!!!!
I actually think a lot of that attitude here came from the Church - Ireland is still quite a religious place and folk still very much see MEN as in charge of the home and decisions etc. ( Head of the home kind of thing. )
Personally I hate that mind set DH and I have a partnership. I tend to ruffle a few feathers when I get going. I couldn't have just stood there at the car place!!!! I deffinately would have said something!!!!
I loved it when DH and I went recently to look at a new car for me. The sales man started explaining all the gadgets to DH and all that boy stuff. Then I just turned round and said something like - well you know I really don't care for the fancy radio, fact is this model doesn't come in the colour I WANT, and I don't like the seat covers!!!!!! For the price your asking it should have at the very least A SUN ROOF!!!!! Then I told him I was not interested and walked away!

All the time his jaw is on the ground cause he just spent best part of half an hour telling DH a lot of stuff about a car he was supposed to be selling to me!!!! He would have been better off getting out a colour chart!!!

Oesdog
 Girl power!!!!
