They are lovely hens. - But your right your Mairi-ann does not look a full Legbar which is quite a pitty really as you were so wanting her to be. That aside though she is a very pretty girl does she still lay you Blue/green eggs?????? I doen;t really matter much as long as she is healthy, happy and the eggs are regular!!!

Your Maran is a lovely looking girl - I couldn;t see if her legs are pink??? They should be!!!!!! Does she lay dark eggs for you????? My Gerty ( Maran) never laid dark eggs - they are just normal run of the mill RIR/ PR coloured eggs
hmm.png
But I love her anyhow.

Eleanor is a lovely looking bird. - What is she???? - I had a hen called Eleanor ( New Hampshire) Lovely big bird but she sadly broke her neck in an accident in the coop. We still think it was murder in the hen house and Gerty and the (SS) Isobella did it! - Then we got Elly ( RIR/PR) to replace her, but she had a prolapse and had to be distroyed. That and knowing the chicken called Edweena (was the one that got killed in the film the Chicken run.) We don;t call them anything starting with E anymore as it would seem a might unlucky!!!!

Kidney Stones are terrible! How long do you have to wait for a doctors appointment?

I have been told I won't have to wait any longer than 12 weeks but should be sooner!

This must be the 15 stone I have had, had most of them when I was pregnant for some reason but this one has been in my kidney for years. Normally I pass them in a few days but this one is being stubborn!! I am starting to wonder if there is something else wrong with me!!

Mairi-Ann does indeed lay minty green eggs (pic below along with a silkie egg) and she also has minty green ears!! I am actually glas she isn't a full CLB as i think she is beautiful!
I will also put another pic of Meg the Marans up as I a not sure she has pink legs!! Her eggs ae quite brown, maybe not as brown as I would like them to be, will try and take a pic of her next one!
Eleanor is a Welsummer and her eggs are quite dark with darker spots!

Shame about your Eleanor and your birds named with a letter E, hope thats not the case here lol!

Your birds look really lovely!!!!!!! - I want one like your Eleanor!!!!!!
The reason I asked about the leg colour of your Maran is because if her legs were Yellow she would be a Barred Rock NOT a Maran they are very alike! Yours does seem to have Pink legs!!!!!!!

Here is my Gerty What do you think of her.

Oh yes, Gerty is lovely and is she a Marans??
I must go and take a look at Meg's legs, she is the scardy cat one of the bunch and at the bottom of the gang bless her she spends her life running away from pecks, even fom the silkies!!

YES Gerty is a Maran but there are different types. She is a Cuckoo Maran - I think your girls is too!!!!! There is a Maran thread on here but I am not sure about it.
There is also a dark egg laying thread too! But as I said my girl never laid dark eggs at all.

Yep, that would be a cuckoo marans. Very pretty flock, tartannik. I hope you feel better soon and everything - well - works itself out. I've never had them, but from what other people have described, kidney stones sound terribly painful. Hang in there.

The whole crew went to church with me today, and then we decided that since we have all of them here we should test drive a few big honkin SUVs to see how we all fit in them. It was fun (mostly). Why do sales men STILL insist on acting as though men are in charge of such decisions? I have no wedding ring on. It was clear the car is for me, and that I have done research on what it offers and what I would like. We get ready for the test drive and he asks BF for his license, and calls him "boss man"

Seemed like a nice kid, too, but that just ticked me off!

I'm finishing up a warmed up cup of coffee. The kids are arguing in the living room. I'm pretending I can't here them from here. Ahh...... children. God's little blessings.....
Time for some football and laundry now. Have a great Sunday afternoon.

Thanks Chicks, I hope its sorted soon too, how long can you go on being in pain??? Anyway, life must go on and I must stop moaning, lol!
I know what you mean about people thinking the cars are for the men. The last time we bought a car and they asked for my hubby's name for ownership, he said 'ask the wife its her car' hehe the look on the salesman face

He has his Landrover and I have my car, no point in him owing two!!

Hope you have a nice afternoon, just about bedtime here but I am just finishing off apple crumble made by my lovely 14 year old daughter. She really enjoys cooking and baking, she also made spaghetti carbonara for us too!! Very nice!
Quick picture of all my kids!

You have really nice kids Tartannik

Chicks - you think thats bad about the car!!!!!! Here in N.Ireland it was terrible when I first arrived. Things like if the Bank phoned up they would NOT talk to me even though we have a joint account!!! I was the "little woman" in doors I wouldn;t "understand!" Such things. Same with utility bill companies and the mortgage etc!
Lots of my friends had the same experiences. Now like your BF my DH just says Ask the boss! Meaning me!!!! Trouble with that is when things go belly up I get the blame!

Still better than the way things were 20yrs ago. At least I can talk to someone on the end of the phone about our bills and stuff without them insisting on me running along and getting the husband!!!! - I find that kind of attitude really insulting!!!!

I actually think a lot of that attitude here came from the Church - Ireland is still quite a religious place and folk still very much see MEN as in charge of the home and decisions etc. ( Head of the home kind of thing. )
Personally I hate that mind set DH and I have a partnership. I tend to ruffle a few feathers when I get going. I couldn't have just stood there at the car place!!!! I deffinately would have said something!!!!

I loved it when DH and I went recently to look at a new car for me. The sales man started explaining all the gadgets to DH and all that boy stuff. Then I just turned round and said something like - well you know I really don't care for the fancy radio, fact is this model doesn't come in the colour I WANT, and I don't like the seat covers!!!!!! For the price your asking it should have at the very least A SUN ROOF!!!!! Then I told him I was not interested and walked away!

All the time his jaw is on the ground cause he just spent best part of half an hour telling DH a lot of stuff about a car he was supposed to be selling to me!!!! He would have been better off getting out a colour chart!!!
