Thats really sad for you. You are good at what you do and as you say the kids do need the support but its all down to finance and unfortunately its the ones that need it most that have it cut - like us here with the care for the disabled ( None existant!)

DAY 20 here . ..
jumpy.gif

This is the next to last hatching for this year.
I am using the new incubator. My humidity is running a little higher than I like to see it. It is running 72 - 73%.
I normally hatch betwee 65 - 70% humidity with really good results.

With my old homemade incubator, I had a way of increasing the humidity during a hatch. With the new one, I don't see a way to do that.
So, I decided starting a little high would be better than starting a little low. If no one hatches today and both vents are open,
the humidity should come down slightly today.

In the meantime, I need to run to the feed store and PO box. Ds has a doctors appointment after school today.
I have lots of things to keep me busy in between morning errands and afternoon doctors appointments.
Then I won't be checking the incubator every 10 minutes to see if anyone is hatching. . .

Speckled sussex, delawares, and blue / black copper marans are on the hatching list this time around.

Today I am 52! 5-10 -1959 my mother was blessed with the wonder of me.My wife now recieves the daily blessings.I must leave work early and have a brewski.I have decided that it wasn't my 52cnd birthday that got me but the other 51 that tore me down!
I took deb to see the movie Thor on mother's day.She was delighted and said it was great. When we got home she took her shoes off and went back in the kitchen,to prepare for my birthday!Tonight I get my favorite dish"fried chicken and mashed potatos and gravy,I am in heaven for a day.She was in heaven sunday!back in the kitchen now!Hyaww!

Happy Birthday, Karl!! Hope it was a good one, and I may have a brewski to celebrate with you!

I can also celebrate that I may actually still have a job. I'm not sure yet, and if I do it may not be what I am doing now, which would be sad but I could at least get going on opening my own practice part time while still having a steady income.

Any chirping, Math Ace? It looks like about half my Appenzeller Spitzhaubens are developing! And one Serama and LaFleche.

Too early to tell on the rest. Keep us posted tomorrow!!

Good morning people,
A b-lated B-Day to everyone. It looks like alot of good people were born in May.

I, myself was hatched in May.
Back to the home duty today, making bread. We had our first fruit of the year from the property the other day, strawberries and rhubarb sauce over pancakes with whip cream and smoked bacon.
The better half was wondering if we have enough birds?????? At the moment, we are getting 10 - 12 eggs a day. When someone buys something off the lawn they get a dozen eggs. This seems to keep at the frig empty of eggs. I was wondering if I could use them as a promotional tax right off?

Enjoy the day
