Coffee's ready...

Oh, Karl, how terrible to loose two friends in a week. My condolences to you.

Quercus - hope you feel better soon - that sounds like quite a flu!

Today the BF's 'rats' (as you call them) are going back to their Mom's house after two weeks. Don't get me wrong, I do love them, but lord am I looking forward to three weeks of NOT having to take care of three children all day every day. The 11 yr old and my son have gotten to bickering like they are full-time siblings, and of course she bickers with her older sister, too. Yesterday she finally saw me loose my temper, which doesn't happen often. They were supposed to be cleaning thier room, so I stated vacuming at the other end of the house, thinking that by the time I got to the end where their room is it would be picked up so I could clean. 45 minutes later I get to their room and they are LAYING IN BED

- with junk and gabage all over the floor!!!

They were shocked by my outburst, but it was well deserved. The younger one got most of it, as it was almost all her stuff on the floor. And she asks me why I'm yelling at her!!

Anyway, I'll be able to focus more time on the buisness stuff and finsihing my coop. I'll take pictures of it soon.

Have a great day, folks. I think later we are going to take them to a primate rescue facility to see the monkeys. It just opened to the public and I got half-price tickets for us. And ITS ON THE WAY HOME FOR THEM!!!

Good morning people,

Hello Sissy, It was a "treat" when I had something other then rice or toast to eat.

We had ourselves a good rain yesterday and last night. I would say a good .25 - .5". We could really use it. From a monsoon this spring to a 3 - 4 week drought. Our little rat is here visiting with her boyfriend and their little nugget (really really little rat 3yrs old), they also brought along their puppy. The better half is in her glory, I don't know who is sleeping better, the little nugget, the puppy or my better half.

One day, way back when....... Our little rat was more of a, well,,, slob,,, never put anything back. One day the better half want her to clean up her toys etc and the bickering started. Well she never did get to clean up her mess, since they had places to go. So me being who I am, took it upon myself to clean up for her. By the time they return, every "offending" toy was gone. The sad thing it was a Saturday, dump day in my neck of the woods.......... A week or so went by before I gave them back to her. Both of them weren't to happy with me. My employees couldn't figure out what I was doing with her toys, and that no one was allowed to know they were in the shop. She sort of learned about keeping her things cleaned up.

Enjoy the day

Good morning chicken wranglers
We buried the last one this morning,Bill was a good friend and I really feel for his widow and children. Now I must go on a retreat with the wife and kids to get things right.
Sissy good to hear your post.
God Bless All!

You are in our thoughts and prayers - we too have lost close friends. DHs best friend was going for a Heart op. He was not allowed to drive as it was a day procedure angio. He was not a happy chap and stomped off to catch a bus - he dropped dead at the bus stop. He left a wife and 3 kids at high school a week before Christmas 2006. It was a very difficult time. DH and his frind had been very close over the years. They worked in the ambulances and crewed together. They used to have motorbikes and go for long trips and adventures with the christian Motorbikers. It left DH with a big sadness for a very longtime. We understand and feel for you much.

Good morning, folks. Hang in there, Karl. It has been a sad month for you.

Try and enjoy the retreat.
Queercus - that is what I had threatened to do. The younger 'rat' asked me, "what do you mean by cleaned up?" I said, "I mean if the end of the vacume runs into anything still on the floor, it goes in the garbage!!" That appeared to clear up my orders. My son's had things taken away for a few days when he refused to put them away.

I'm enjoying my coffee and debating if I should go outside and work on the coop this morning. Looks like it might rain. I am proud of myself - this week I learned to use the circular saw by myself. I guess the main thing that used to scare me was not being able to hold the boards in place and saw at the same time. I figured out how to hold them in place with bricks and set them so they were pretty stable on top of a picnic table. Still have all my fingers, and made a lot more progress using that instead of my small saw! I should have it all done before the end of the summer. I bought these thatch roof pieces from someone on Craig's List, and now I need to figure out how to put them up. The thach is attached to weird, rubbery plastic bars, which I guess I can put screws through?......

I'll take a picture when it's done!

Good morning chicken wranglers
Thankyou all very much,
Chicks this sounds very good.I do wish to see the pics when done.I must go now by all Ggod Bless!

Good morning people,
Looks like the heat wave is over here. Seasonal weather once again. All the kids left yesterday, back to a "peaceful quiet" house. It's funny not have someone or something going one way or another. It was good seeing everyone tho, better seeing them leave (did I write that?).

Chicks: Sometimes I use bar clamps to hold pieces down while I cut them.

"The thach is attached to weird, rubbery plastic bars, which I guess I can put screws through?......" Could they be held up/on by like a bracket? You could check with the manufacture. I never worked with them.

Enjoy the day.
