Coffee's ready...

Thanks Karl - once years ago when I first came to the lord - (when I was just a wee tiny princess!)
- I prayed that god would give me Wisdom. I guess that was a very strange thing for a teenager to pray for and I can tell you it's been a long hard road on which the lord has increased my limited understanding of things. In my old age now I see things as less black and white and more grey! I certainly am more accepting and have more understanding and tollerance than in my younger years. - God is good!!!
Rancher - the lord will enlighten you! I too prefer warmth for my Arthritis!

Karl - why are you quiting drinking??? Health issues??? Are you indulging in excess??? I have just gotten another keg of beer on the go and a lovely strewberry wine and chardinay. Oh well just have to drink it all myself then!

Must admit it was very very nice while away to have a drink in the evenings and not have to worry about care issues etc. Seldom do I get the chance to be true here. The odd glass of wine or a cold beer on a summer afternoon is about as far as I go as there are too many responsibilities and I can't afford to overdo and knacker my liver or be unable to drive to the hospital if someone needs to go in a hurry.
"All good things come from the lord" - but too much of a good thing is a bad thing for sure! I would be the first to say to folk if you or anyone your with has an issue with drink then simply DON'T. Self control is a great gift few of us posses.

Well I do thank everyone for the input.

Karl, hope you get on the wagon and stay there. Remember All things are lawful but not everything is expedient. Why toy with temptation and the trouble it can bring. The word does tell us to be sober. Lord knows more trouble has come from drinking booze than not. Billy Sunday was a great one for preaching against it. He actually preached here in Syracuse not for from where my grandparents lived before I was born. To, we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit and seems to me that's what we should strive for and to be refilled.

rngrbill - that is nice and my family does have a place for chickens but not the space between the neighbors. Just a little space for maybe three or four hens I'd say.

However my place is with my bride, so i expect I'll be snowblowing snow. Husbands love your wives even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. Husbands don't realize that they are their wives covering. Unless the Lord shows me another reason that he has for me to go or a way for both of us to go together.

Moving on , DD and hers are at the in laws and were supposed to go look at trailers today. They will be setting up across the road from his parents. His parents are funding part of the cost which is good. However be sure that Darcy is a large part of that decision.

Now my other DD will be moving back home and is expecting to go to nursing school. She recently lost her job. So the nest will not be completely empty yet. It is said the kids have not fully moved out until their stuff is out of the attic.

Take care folks and be good.

Good morning chicken wraanglers
Oesdog i'm happy to report that my only problem with drink is my ballooning midsection.
Yesterday my son and I went to a party for kids that read more than 15 books over the summer. My boy is 12 and I am proud of him for his accomplishment. The party was sponsored by the honorable congressman Aaron Shock. The television crew was interviewing Aaron and I took Karl over to meet the congressman. After the interview I jumped up pulled Karl over to the gentlemans presence,Introduced myself by saying"Hello Aaron do you remeber me?His reply was ,yes".I tried him "So whats my name"?His knimble recovery,"I know I met you but I just can't remember your name".I said " I'm Karl And this is my son Karl,He met your reading challange, and We are all quite proud of him".
I then said " Karl wanted to ask you how you felt about the jerrymandering of the districts and if it would affect your incumbancy? The honorable turned and looked Karl right in the eyes and explained that it would affect his constituency more because now he has more area to service and a more sparsely populated expanse from which to draw votes from.Little Karl then betrayed me and said "what he means is he wanted to ask you, I really don't know anything about pollotics whatsoever".I then replied" oh and he also wondered if you thought it was a conspieracy conspiered by the democrats"?He being a good republican than looked straight at me this time and said"Well they do control the whole state"! We then had our pictures taken with the gentleman and Karl proceeded around the party , which was composed of moon walk houses and Ice cream stands.
He forced himself to have a good time and than we went on our way.It was nice to spend so time with my son alone none of my other children to distract us from enjoying each others company. My Weekend.Rnger my dad always claimed I stole his Wheelbarrow So he wrote Eugene Lutz on the new one,Isimply wrote Karl in front of that . It took him a year to notice and he grouses to about it to this day! I did not even take the first one but I had to irritate him!
God bless!

- Good to hear you bible quoting again, and good your feeling better and more like your old self!
Everything in moderation! Your quite right the good book does tell us to be sober. Billy Sunday was a good man who had a heart to help folk who had a lot of difficult issues to deal with in their lives. He saw a lot of the devistation of drink and that I am sure is why he preached so much against the abuses of it.

Well I am away to sort the old brewery out - and make room for this Christmas lot of wine demi johns.
Oesdog - better run before I get Ranchers bible in the head again! I can feel him flinging it at my left ear from here!

Karl - glad you had a good time.

Oesdog - not to worry I've got your number and just remember you reap what you sow. The pic is nice and I have to say you look like DW's sister and she's a rebellious one too. Don't blame me if you get convicted by my bible quoting. I will say that much of it is to remind myself of what I've learned, more so than to pester you. Just be careful near the water you don't get tipsy and fall in. You might find your self in the belly of a fish and spit up on the shore of the creek that borders my back yard. Don't laugh it can happen.

rngrbill - thanks for the reminder. I like to order new ones each year. I usually get three, one for me and two to share. Heaven knows the diseases and cures all change. Last time I got some coloring books too. To give to kids who come with their parents to buy chicks.

Sissy - tell DH I said happy birthday and I hope it was a happy one.

Now more news of NY. The broody I had abandoned the eggs I think. There was a new hen on the eggs last pm and this am there was a dead chick in the box. I hurried to set up the incu and a chick hatched while I was away at my volunteer job. Another is peeping and after candleing the rest only 5 out of 10 are left. I have yet to decide what to do with them. Either set up a brooder or offer them for free and just to be done with it. I do hope another hatches do there is no lone chick. We shall see I suppose.

Well take care everyone, I love ya all.

Rancher
