Cold Chickens?

Today doing chores I noticed my birds were puffed up huddled together in a corner, and some of mine were shaking. I quickly put a heat lamp up, I know some people are dead set against them, and I was too. It is 8 degrees. Is there anything else I can do to heat them up?

Your birds will be fine if they can get out of the wind. 8 degrees isn't too cold for them.
