Color genetics thread.

Thanks! These guys are a new breed and colors for me. I just wish I had more girls in the bunch. Hopefully my new hatchlings will have more girls.

I have a Q!

So I saw a pic on a Hedemora thread that was like a peach and lavender color, but it was almost white and super pearlescent. What genes are behind there? Anybody know?

the breast its almost gold just some black tips and the end of the feathers

I think may have some E ( black genes ) and some other gene ( gold ) because of the black and gold feathers also aroud 80% will be dirty feet (white legs with some black ) and 20% will be blue leg, ( parents all solid white legs )

E is a pattern gene. Different than base-color genes. There are only two options for base color genes, silver or gold/red. All black markings are caused by pattern genes. E is extended black, which means the bird is entirely black, with no base color visible. Your bird/s are wild-type partridge pattern, which is the least dominant pattern type in chickens. They have no other, more dominant patterning genes.
