Very nice! When were you in my backyard? :D

First is Blue, second is Chocolate Pied, third is Blue Pied with a marking that I am trying to figure out myself, as I have one exactly like that (I posted tons of pics of him on the Muscovy thread), and fourth is Chocolate Whitehead.

Hope that helps!
Yes! Thank you. That's what I originally assumed but wasn't certain since the first Drake had the chocolate breast with the laced? feathers? Was wondering if this was a "ripple" and possibly "barred" since he has some grey tips on some white feathers. Chance of Looney? (Could be wishful thinking) And is the green translucent typical in chocolate pied? Definitely threw me for a loop 🤣 and the third is blue barred I believe.

Blue is a dilution of Black, and as such the head is often darker than the body, and the chest will frequently be a more brownish colour. A good blue will typically have a darker lacing to the feathers.

A Barred will hatch out yellow with a coloured tail. Unless your handsome fella had that (and mine didn't) then we're both still in the dark as to this particular marking, lol! The greenish tinge is also fairly normal in Chocolates.

The odd white feathers may moult out, or be a precursor to even more white. I had a black pied hen who had a fully black head when I got her last year, and who now has only flecks of black on her head. These young birds will look very different once they moult into their adult feathering.

Here's some really good websites I found:

And I think your right, I don't remember seeing any tipped tails but there were just so many to keep track of 😅

D'awww, a bundle of lurvs!

Another thing I forgot, the Barred will have a dark bill compared to the all-yellow white.

That's Jewel at about 5 weeks old? See how her bill is darker, and how the feathers are also coming in dark. At first, she was all yellow with just a black tail.

Recent pic, ten days ago. She's the one on the far left.

And see what I mean by you having taken pics of my ducks? :D
