I sent a message to somebody local a few months ago to see if they had any peafowl eggs that they would sell. They replied: right now I am still setting the eggs I get in my incubator. Once my incubator is full I might sell a few eggs. I have blue pied, java muticus-muticus, silver pied, dark pied spalding, and midnight blackshoulder. They are all together, so what the chicks will look like is anybody's guess!
Fast foward about a month and a half and the same person placed an ad that they are selling rare colored peachicks. They say that they have Midnight, Purple Silver Pied, and Spalding. Assuming they hatched these from their own birds, and going with what they said before (that the birds are all together), is there any way to tell what is what color wise? Can you tell the difference between a Midnight BS and a regular Blue BS as chicks? I would love to have Midnights, but I don't want to buy some and find that they aren't midnight after all. Thoughts, anyone?
