We have a gorgeous Silkie rooster that we were given, I am told from the breeder he is show quality and they showed some proof of it, but never actually showed him, just his parents and siblings. I wanted to know what colour you’d call this. I was told partridge, but when I looked it up he seems lighter than the partridge silkies but darker than our buffs.

Looks like a Red Partridge. He looks like he maybe carrying one copy of Columbian giving the full red body, & stripes in the hackles.

I personally call it Pheasant, because what the coloration resembles.

I named this EE Pheasant because of the color pattern.

Ya not partridge.
Does look rather buff Columbian.
Curious what they showed you as proof of show quality.
I have never showed chickens or any animals before, so I don’t know what all is required for showing chickens. All they had done was show us the parents and we got to see their place a bit with all their show chickens which included the parents (I am assuming) they only bred silkies and polish chickens, so I am doubting that if he was hatched from their hens he was mixed with anything other than polish but they kept those seperate.
