Colorado

So far, the swap has one person with ducks, and another with some cattle dog mix puppies and a couple chickens. We are going to come back in about an hour to see if anymore people show up. Keep you all updated.
Oh, and it's in a tiny parking lot at a business.

Listen to Adam over me, i'm an amateur who makes things work, not necessarily do them right. The space in the close up picture may be able to be closed with a couple of screws. Even if you can't, it doesn't look that bad. From the far out picture everything looks fine, I can't tell it's warped. If you remember, we built our new coop from a shed kit. A few pieces of that wood was so awful we had to replace it, but most of it we made work. Square was more of a problem than level.

Actually you were the first one to pop into my head when we started assessing warpage :) I agree with you that the floor pieces can be screwed straight, and now Bob is kind of agreeing, so we will get some long screws and try to tighten it up. Guillermo claims to be on the way down here himself with my new walls. Bob says I am probably the last person he wants to meet face to face right now but he'll like it even less if the walls are wrong again. If they arrive and are correct we'll go get 4x4s to use for the skids. I have to take Bill home so he can finish a couple of assignments and study for a test he has Tuesday, and school comes first. Probably do that tonight, and then get to work bright and early tomorrow and see how far we can get. The upcoming week probably won't allow much in the way of time off but I'll squeeze as much as possible out of it, have to have it done.

Onward!

You are definitely right. It does not look bad at all. I would take a drill bit and drill the warped board just a hair bigger then the screw (but smaller then the screw head). You then screw the screw through the hole so the screw only grabs the rear board and the screw head will pull the boards together. Make sure to dab a little glue on there before you screw it to give it some extra strength.

I have 2 rare color cockerels available--bantam cochins in Brown Red and Lemon Blue. Beautiful colors!! Both were at the Stock Show, the brown red has better body type. They hatched Aug 2012. Locally $10 each. I'll also bring them (if still available) to the D U H swap on Feb 2 at Earthdog Denver, 370 Kalamath 10-12 Noon

Here are some pictures of my coop and my two new pullets.

My dog, "Jaina" checking out the new chickens and Coop

Side view with the two pullets. One RIR and a Buff Orpington.

I'm still looking for 2 or 3 pullets to add to my flock.

Beautiful boys Shy! I wish I could keep Roos. I would take those red browns off your hands in a heart beat! Hatch update; I candled again (day 14) and I think I have two quitters (one Marans eggs unfortunately). I am going to let them go, just distance them from the rest during lockdown jic. It's hard to tell what I am looking at, they are both dark shelled (the 2nd is olive). I am sure there is development in both I just don't know if they are just slower than the others or quit. :/
