Colorado

Hummmmm... This could turn out very good or very bad... I asked DH to empty a large tub for me for the first two weeks indoor brooder. When he came in I asked where it was. Well, I guess DH decided to MAKE a brooder with the leftover wood from other projects. I love him and the coop looks nice enough but a carpenter he is not. Please cross your fingers for me...
It is the thought that counts!!

Does any one know where the Elizabeth Country Corner gets their chicks? I'm curious to know what hatchery.

Falcon Feed will order in small quantities from Ideal. They are located behind Big R in Falcon. Call or go in.

I have 2 rare color cockerels available--bantam cochins in Brown Red and Lemon Blue. Beautiful colors!! Both were at the Stock Show, the brown red has better body type. They hatched Aug 2012. Locally $10 each. I'll also bring them (if still available) to the D U H swap on Feb 2 at Earthdog Denver, 370 Kalamath 10-12 Noon

Both are beautiful! I am liking the little Bantams more and more..... Shy can you post your hatching experience here in Colorado? I know you have posted it on this thread before, but I can;t find it. Thanks!

has anyone had silkies before? I'm getting 2 in my batch of chicks on fri and was wondering if a 1 gal bucket...like the ones you used to be able to get ice cream in or the ones you can find at walmart around easter...would be big enough for a nesting box for them. I know they can't get up into my nesting boxes so i thought something underneath them on the floor would work for them.

I have looked and looked and I can not find a for sure answer to my question.. Maybe one of y'all know. What 2 chickens are crossed to create a "Gold Star"?
