Colorado

x2 - certainly worth keeping an eye out but Cochins are generally more mellow than some others. I have one in my laying flock (we call her Li'l Lotta') and have some shipped eggs in the incubator now, because we are so fond of the one we have.
Little Lotta, I loved that comic book when I was little

I will be there! Just deciding which chicks to bring. Oldest batch is a given. They are five weeks old now. Then there are the chanteclers and my s/r mix hatch. I think I have room for everyone plus bins in the car... This will be an Adventure!

And DH will make sure I don't come home with more than I leave with.

LOL FIRST words out of Bob's mouth - don't bring any new ones home! I have no plans to do so. My oldest pullets will be 6 weeks old this weekend, they look like little hens already - just amazing - no matter how many times I see it, I can't believe how quickly they go from chicks to chickens. I'm on the fence about whether to bring any of the younger ones, I guess the swap is in the parking lot, which makes it tough to keep younger ones warm enough. Three weeks is getting close to not needing heat, I guess it depends on how cold it is that morning.

Where did you get your Delawares from?

McMurray. They are really growing well - among the nicest of the chicks I've gotten from them. Silkies are much better from Cackle, the Silkies from McMurray are pretty fragile, but the McMurray Large Fowl have been very stout. LF from Cackle are plenty stout as well so far.

I've been catching up on about a weeks worth of postings, so here I go:

Someone was asking if there were any place similar to the restore in Colorado Springs. I can't remember the name, but there is a second-hand builders supply place on W. Cucharras. I think the address is 515 W. If you are on 8th street and turn East, it's on the left right where Cucharras dead ends. It's more expensive than the Re-store tho.
