Colorado

LOL. but we're all from Colorado....

I have friends from the Springs that think I live in outer darkness.......... And though my address is Fountain, I'm not actually in Fountain. We still love you man!

All my friends think I live in Kansas... At least I'm not from the Springs. :)

I have always had community nest boxes. First I had 2 - 2 seaters, really just plastic storage bins. All 6 of my chickens would wait around for the same special spot they all seemed to favor.

Now I have a 4-5 seater community box. Again, all 6 hens wait around for the same spot right in the center of the box. Don't know what will happen when the new girls start to lay and there are 13 hens vying for that one spot. Maybe they will start spreading out.

I've got 20 some odd chickens and with the exceptions of "emergency I need to lay now", they all lay in the same box, even though there are 7 of them in there. Weird birds.

O.K. Kids. Yes, me again. Here are some lousy pics of the 3 chooks I think are Roo's. The gold, black, and turquoise with a rose comb is just a run-of-the-mill barnyard variety. He crows well after sunup and is going to get me in trouble with the HOA. The orange dude is a Buff Orpington who I have grown rather attached too. The other white-ish guy I was sure would be a Leghorn, he came from a white egg. Two of these guys need to go. They were all hatched 3/27 by a broody Ancona so are a bit skid-dish around folks. At this point I don't care which 2 go, but again, I'd kinda like to keep the B.O.

Feel free to click on these pics to enlarge them, I'm not sure what the proper etiquette is for posting such a thing.

Hello, Colorado peeps! I have an urgent situation that I'm hoping someone can help with. A good friend sent a shipement of guinea keets that has been mis-shipped by the post office. They are sitting at PO 80023 in a town called Bloomfield, suburb of Denver, near PO 80219. Address is 280 East First Avenue in Bloomfield.

My friend would like to gift these keets to anyone who can pick them up ASAP - she just doesn't want them to die in the box! Please PM me if you can help.

MANY THANKS!

If it was closer I would go get them, I even have two empty brooders that are ready to go but I can't go tonight. If they are still there tomorrow I will make the drive. Hopefully someone closer will be able to take them.

Ping and Poof still need a new home. They are free to anyone willing to give them lots of love and a forever home. They are pets not meat birds. They love everyone.

Did you try calling the post office and telling them the situation, they can give them water and food till someone can pick them up maybe?

Well...boo! So, were looking to add another dog to our family. Yep, a border collie and or blue heeler mix
wink.png
haha puppy so she can just keep watch and learn to be a chicken lover and protector...we have a Male Altered Boxer, Floppy n Fawn.
So, I found a border collie blue heeler mix in Sugar City (Gwad I hope she doesn't do Co BYC, doubt it)..5.5 months old - female (which we want) nearly all black sweet looking. Of course on Craigslist ..
I go back to check for the ad on Craigslist because they say they are moving and have a general post listing numerous items for sale one being the 5.5 month old working dog....
She took the 5.5 month old down - as we have setup with this person to drive down and go get her this weekend.
BUT now she/he has a 3 month old listed on the ad...
We spoke via text all day Monday and she seemed genuine and honest...
Furthermore, Im now in a mix of emotions and want BOTH of these pups but I'm afraid she might catch on to my inquiry of the 3 month old last night from a different email (I kept it vague) ...because she NEVER mentioned having a 3 month old too....
Shoot Fire - I feel like I'm suppose make sure these pups come home to us...eeek - what's your take?

One pup at a time is usually easier to train, but they do tend to keep themselves occupied when there are two.

What are Guinea Keets? And where is Bloomfield? If they're anything like parakeets there are a few extra cages. There is no shortage of birds around here, plus I have the day off, so I'm sure whatever they are they could find a nice comfy place here in Franktown. PM me, P:
