Wendell - we used a rope and pulley system for our BBBs. None of us were strong enough to get a wet bird out of the scald water without major injury or burns. They are very heavy!!!!!

Wow Wendall, those are some big turkeys! You did turkey's last year as well, right? How were they in comparison to store bought, butterball or whatever brand? I've been thinking about doing two or three turkeys, but wondering if it's worth it, I hear they eat a lot.
Wow, that is a lot of food! I guess if you could get top dollar it would be worth it. I drive Marksheffel FREQUENTLY, and there is a house at Fontaine and Marksheffel that has, at least, twenty turkeys foraging in the front yard. I'm guessing they sell them, because why the heck else would they have that many?
I guess I'd have to pick the right breed, because I really do not need a 35lb turkey.
The girls weighed the turkeys today.......one weighs 47 pounds and the other weighs 49 pounds.
