Hi Folks,
Introducing myself for the first time here. I live in the HR area, and finally (after years of saying "we'll get them next year" - Ha!) got 4 little fuzz balls this past weekend. I'm so excited to finally be walking the walk. Like I said, we've talked about this for many years. I guess, researching ourselves into oblivion. "Analysis Paralysis"??? LOL! So far, it's been a lot of fun to watch these little cuties!
We currently have 1 austrolorp, 1 plymouth barred rock, 1 silver lakenvelder, and 1 aracauna (looks more americauna?). Hoping to pick up a couple of marans this weekend if I can get in before they're gone. In our neighborhood we can have 4 hens, no roosters. As I'm counting - if I can get the Marans - that will add up to 6. LOL I keep reading about something called "chicken math". Haha! 3 of the chicks came from pullet bins, and 1 is from a straight run. I'm obviously hoping for hens, but you know - preparing for "just in case". Hehe.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
