Colorado

I have a BO broody that is hatching 2 so far and still not moving. Love it! Psycho Broody is setting eggs again and to her credit, she is getting less psycho. Her first baby of the year is in with the crew and doing well. Guess we will see what comes of all of this.

Hi guys, I am located in Frederick and have some chickens.
Sorry to ask this random question, but is there anyone out there that would be willing to come to my house to finish a chicken coop? Do you guys know of anyone that would be interested in finishing up a chicken coop?

The guy I paid decided to take my money and not finish it. I would finish it, but have no clue how to do it Or even where to start.

Thank you

Hello everyone! My name is Joe and my wife's name is Danell. We live iN Pueblo West. We are new at the chicken and duck thing but were giving it a try. We currently have 6 Muscovy ducklings about 3 weeks old, 4 Indian Runners about 2 weeks old, and a 4 week old rooster. We'll be getting more chickens once our area is set up this weekend.

Welcome to the colorado thread. Ducks can be a handfull to raise. They are a bit messy for me. I have geese quail and chickens. It sounds like you have a plan going. Enjoy the chicken tv and watch out for chicken math.

That is what I have done, several times and never, ever had a problem.

I will have to try this tomorrow while I paint the new coop. I've had a little bit of trouble integrating the month olds with the 2 month olds. Unfortunately, I think I waited to long to put them together. The M&M Twins are giants compared to the month olds now, especially my tiny d'Anvers. She is the one that Memnoch terrorises.

Well that's just mean spirited! So sorry that you are having trouble,

I bet you could throw a "coop raisin' party BBQ" and get some help. Are all of the supplies there or plans? How much needs to be finished?

Maybe you could post a couple of pics of what you have/where you're at right now (with the build) so we could get an idea of what's left to be done?

I agree with LS. It would also be helpful to know if the helper would need to bring tools or if you have them available, and if power is available with extension cord or if the tools would need to be cordless.
I work in that area so could possibly help in the afternoons. (I also have tools) I get off work at 2:30 in the afternoon so could help for like 2 hours a day for a few days a week to help you get done. ( I did build my own coop as well as the last 5 other coops I have had. I am no stranger to working with lumber.)

Pic of my current coop so you know kind of what I can do.

My other coops were smaller. If you need pics of them PM me and I will send you a couple.

Thank you, all who have sent good wishes my way for re-homing my EE, Peggy Sue, and even my SS, Speckli. They both just left - to go with the son of a friend! The family is thrilled: they were expecting scrawny little things, and they got my two beautiful, robust, silky-feathered hens. I can't say I'm sorry to see them go, but I was glad they found a good home where they can be together

alebuela,

I am glad they went to someone you know. I know you really care for the little orpington and now maybe she will have a bit more peace. I know I am looking forward to the bird swap coming up. My feed bill is getting out of hand. So many chickens lol.

Our broody is on day 19, I believe, I gave her eggs on the 12th. Does the 12th count as day one? Last time I looked she still had 8 eggs she was setting. I have been feeding her a runny scrambled egg in the am while she sits on the nest. She gets off here and there but notice it is less and less, so I think she must be close. Not sure what to do with the nest box they are in, it is a little higher than the coop floor, afraid of the babies falling out. It isn't far, was thinking if just adding a bunch of straw so it is level with the coop floor. I am going to get a small bottle and make a horizontal nipple bottle to attach to the side of the nest box. I can't wait! :fl
