Colorado

I am in Colorado looking for people that have call ducks for sale, please PM on kind of Call Duck/Ducks, age and the pricing on them? And if possible a number to call please

Went out to feed the birds this am and found another of my New Hampshire hens dead. This is the 2nd one in the last couple of months. They just turned 1 year old. No obvious signs of battle or illness... just dead in a corner... Same corner I found the last one in... Wonder if that corner is jinxed or something?

Anyway... If anyone knows of someone with a GQF type (cabinet) incubator for sale, please let me know. This coming weekend will be the last that my 100 egg purchaser will be buying for a while as he's moving. Figure I might as well hatch a couple hundred out myself. Thanks!

Late, it happens, now it happening in that corner is weird or just a coincidence. Never easy either way. Sorry for your loss.

Holy Moly Colorado Rockies! How is everyone after yesterday's storms? We had some rain and some hail but nothing to complain about. Fingers crossed and

Yea, North Boulder got pummeled with rain but besides that we are all good. My BF and a friend were driving back from FOCO last night during the storm and they just missed the twister near Berthoud. Seems like we were lucky.

So for your entertainment until everyone checks in, I will share some baby pics. :D

So yesterday Mamacita decided she wanted out of her little area, so I opened it up for her and the babies. Here are some shots, she is now fully integrated with our 6 week olds. She slept in the nest box of the small coop with them last night. Her babies are able to navigate the ramp just fine.

The friendly white one went right up to Mamacits and babies, she just started at the older chick. She didn't attack or anything, at first. The white one decided to push their luck and eventually got chased away. Also on day 3 mom taught them how to use the horizontal nipple waterer.

Welcome to the Colorado thread.

No storms here, but did see tons of lighting to the north and east last night!

Hmmm, cabinet incubator...... you could try CL, sometimes you can find a deal there. I bought my table top from Incubator Warehouse, they were easy to deal with, and shipping was FAST!!! Is just a cheap one, but hold up to 48 eggs!

Looks like the clouds are already building up, hope it is not a repeat of what blew through last night for those to the north, and east!

Cute pictures of babies learning how to be chickens!!!

No hail at my place last night. 10 miles north there was ping ping sized hail however. I think i might have heard a single drop of rain. Lol. You have to live spring time in the rockies. Hail will destroy lots of work if you let it. Stay safe everyone. Should be one heck of a weekend.

On FB someone posted baseball size hail near Elizabeth! Yikes! Hail can do a number on trees with new leaves, buds, and gardens for sure!

Yep, going to be a wild and wooly weekend weatherwise, stay dry and safe everyone!

I'm glad everyone (so far) seems okay after last night's storms! Nothing too serious out in our area. Seems like we caught the storms heading north, then caught it heading back south. Lots of wind and rain, but thankfully no funnels or tornadoes. Still didn't mean I wasn't wide awake and terrified until 2hrs after the tornado watch was cancelled for us (I almost got sucked out of a house by a tornado as a toddler and am deathly afraid of them).

All the wind and rain did mean I had to move the adult flock into the coop before we had roosts up. I didn't have time to move them to the barn. Just set up a makeshift roost and put them and their water and food in and closed them up for the night. They actually seemed to like it once they got over being shoved into it so quickly. My demon twins got a lot freaked out by the wind. The last time they let me round them up that quick and they cuddled up as close as they could get to me was a month and a half ago! Since the weather was still sketchy today, the twins went to the barn instead of the adult pen so they wouldn't get rained on. I hope the adult flock uses the coop today.
