Colorado

Welcome Chick fest! Thanks for the warning on this company. Problem is most people pay all up front, I would only agree to half a payment if even that...... once someone without ethics has all your money, they don't always do what they promised. I have seen this with house setting and building too.

Yep, I learned a valuable lesson. He built up my trust and then got my money and didn't follow through. I'll never do it again but I certainly had to learn the hard way.

Hi Colorado chicken owners, When I was looking for a builder I wished that a post popped up like this one, so that's why I'm writing this. I hope this info helps someone avoid a terrible experience like mine. If you come across Jason Cordova and Christine Romero when you're searching for someone to build your coop, I recommend that you save yourself a lot of time, money, and frustration and avoid doing business with these people. They're based in Denver but do business in the mountains too. I had a very bad experience with them. In summary, they did not finish what was agreed to in our contract and he did not finish it per the schedule in our contract. The coop was supposed to be completed in 7-10 days (no more than 20 days, weather dependent; however, weather was not an issue). After almost 2 months, the coop was still not done and I had to get someone else to finish it. They are likely not doing business as 5280 Coops any longer - I don't know what their new business name is. Send me a private message if you're interested in more details. He advertises on Craigslist with this picture. It looks great, but don't fall for it.
thank you for the heads up.

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all having a good day. I'm in need of help re-homing my 4 1/2 months old Salmon Faverolles rooster. Unfortunately we haven't had any luck with the collars and now he crows whenever he hears my voice. I would like to find him a good home before my neighbors start to complain, so if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Man I am REALLY loving this cooler weather!! I actually have been able to sleep for more than a few hours at a whack (fan in window blowing in 60 degree air all night). I know it's only temporary as there's still a good 4-6 more weeks of potential heat, but what a nice taste of fall huh? Hope y'all are enjoying it as much as I am. It almost makes me want to go out and do yard work or something

I actually enjoy that part of home ownership... anyone want to volunteer to clean inside for me? (was worth a try...)

I agree that the cooler temps are a very nice change of pace. I do need a bit more time for all the maters to ripen though so hang in there with me while I endure the heat again on Friday.

Welcome!!! You may try listing your guy on the Buy Sell Trade thread here on BYC. Is hard rehoming a rooster, but he is a rare and large breed, so hopefully someone will want him.

Loving it too!

Quote: I know, we had a light frost last night! Really need a few more weeks of frost free night, but not holding my breath!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Colorado thread, but have been here with BYC for a while.

I am looking for some more laying hens, or hens a few months old that will start laying soon. I already have an established laying flock, but this spring we had a fox problem and my flock is much smaller than I would like. I don't have time for chicks, so I was hoping to find some layers nearby.
Don't worry, the fox has been taken care of!

I've searched the buy sell trade thread with not much luck. Mostly roo's.
If anyone hears of something or wants to decrease their flocks, please send me a PM!
Thanks for your time!

Shoot! Just a month or so ago, there were a number of people looking to thin out their flocks! I'm not sure if they still are, but hopefully you'll get some PMs! :)
