Colorado

THANK YOU for posting the pix. I'm sooooo glad he's getting along well there, and glad you all are happy. He should give you some great little chicks when you're ready.

Are you going to keep the name Humphrey? Doesn't he look like an old man to you ... with the cheek tufts, beard and blue "hair"? It just seemed appropriate but it's really up to you.

He does kinda look like and old man! I will keep the name as I don't know what else I will call him! I plan on hatching some chicks from him but have to wait for fertility from old roo to clear out and then give him time to get used to them and do his biz!! I will probably wait about three weeks and check the eggs for fertility. If I show fertile then I will start collecting!! Again thanks to you and ghillie for all your work on getting him here.

SO I have a VERY pretty EE pullet I suspect is a Roo..........

I will post pics in a bit, but if she is a he would anyone on here want him?

Hello! Hubby and I are relocating from Wasilla, Alaska to Trinidad at the end of July. Or, it might be just him if our house here doesn't sell quickly. He starts his new job on July 30. I'm still trying to figure out how to get some of my "kids" down there. I'm bringing some of my Orpingtons and Silkies. I'm so excited and I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in our lives in such a beautiful state.

[Denver] SAVE THE DATE: June 13th at 5:30 for Public Hearing

To all Denver chicken owners/lovers/advocates:

Please save the date for the upcoming City Council Public Hearing (and final vote) on the proposed Food Producing Animals ordinance. The ordinance would allow you to keep up to 8 hen chickens/ducks with only a one-time, low-cost Animal Control license (instead of our current expensive, bureaucratic dual permitting system). To read the proposed ordinance, click here: http://bit.ly/ebExfI

City
Council Public Hearing
Monday, June 13th
5:30pm - ?
City & County Building (14th & Bannock)

Even if you don't want to testify at the public hearing, it is *crucial* that everyone in Denver who supports this measure show up for the hearing. "Pack the hearing" is the best advice the pro-FPA City Councilmembers have for us. There will be an opportunity during the testimony for everyone in the room who supports the measure to stand, so your presence will be noted.

We will be coordinating testimony for the public hearing in the next couple of weeks. If you're interested in testifying, please contact me.

Can anyone tell me when the next couple of swaps are going to be? I have a large number of young birds I am raising to pullet and need to sell them in the next month or two. Anywhere in the state is fine. I may turn it into a vacation of sorts, the only way I will get may family away from the ranch. I will have about 20 + pullets of various breeds, WR,BR,sex link reds,SLW, and even some older birds I need to cull. Thanks. Nancy

I have some quail I need to get rid of so I am also interested in upcoming swaps. I am tired of my son turning on the kitchen light at 2am and the extra roos crowing their heads off
