I am NOT a chicken owner...just guessing...but the two in the back with the smaller combs and wattles are girls (?). The two in the front standing are roos because of the pointed neck feathers (?). No guess on the others.

Thank you everyone! I can't wait for some warmer weather and 4 seasons. Alaska is winter, winter, sprinter, rain.

Okay, not an expert but here's what I think...the first three standing-roos. I'm seeing longer hackle and saddle feathers and bigger wattles. The last one standing-pullet; and the two laying down-a little harder to tell. The one in front could be a roo...bigger wattles. Does it look like it's growing longer saddle/tail feathers? The one behind-pullet. The single pic-roo.

Also I have just today set my very first hatch in my brand new incubator! Due to hatch 6-7 After that I am ordering some eggs from shadowpaints in Idaho. She has developed silkies that are 8-10 lbs fully grown and lay better than silkies, still good broody moms also... so exciting!

Road construction falls in with the rain. As soon as the roads are ice free it starts. They usually spend all summer repairing the ruts and pot holes the studded tires make all winter so they can do it all over again the next year.

Well at least they repair them in AK
