Maybe adding another fan would help? I never built one but it seems the point of the fan is to keep all the air even temp.

Just a thought... :/

I have a giant 200 mm fan in it right now. I'm thinking if I add more ventilation so it can cool the thermostat down faster it will hold more steady. Though I am very happy with it as it sits. It is staying in the safe range.

98.5-101.1. Average temp of 99.8. Now I'm getting eggcited.

Beth and I had a lady at church yesterday come up to us all excited. It seems her husband finally told her to go ahead and start the process to get chickens. Where they live in Fountain, apparently they have to get HOA approval on their coop, then get a buy-off from the city with chicken number restrictions based on how big their lot is. She now wants to learn all about chickens! She plans on attending ChickenFest too!

Cool! Can't wait to hear about her chicken adventure! Be sure to tell her about BYC Colorado thread!

So I had to move the thermostat closer to the bulb but I have the temp cycling from 99.5-101.5 now. Not exactly where I want it but its fairly close. Median temp is 100.5. I'm feeling confident that this is going to work. Now I just have to wait for the stupid RTV to dry that's holding in the light sockets. Next time ill find a different material to glue those in with.
Good idea on the coolerator thread they said you want the fan facing the light bulbs and blowing on them.......

The fan is blowing on them. I swapped out the 40 watt bulb with a 60w bulb an now my temperature variation is only 1.4 degrees. I'm working now but ongoing to play with it more when I get home.
