WOW, now thats impressive. Great work. I really need to drive the six or so miles to you place and take a look. It just looks awsome to me. How many pens did you guys put up?
Thanks!

We have a total pf 6 pens and a huge run. Two are within the run fence, and we use for growout pens. Pens 3 and 4 will house the breeders, and 5 & 6 will be brooding pens. when pens 3 and 4 are done, they can also be used for growing chicks.

How far north of the track curves are you?

outstanding,  These were the eggs from right down the street from my house,  correct?  I am glad they are cooperating for you this time.  I made scrambled eggs the other night with 9 of my eggs a couple of days ago and all were fertle.  So if you would like to try with some of mine sometime, you are welcome to.  I may ask for a chick or two in trade though.  Heres hoping you have a good hatch.  :fl

Yes these were the eggs from your neighbors house. It's funny because now she has an add on CL selling hatching eggs for $5 for 12... She sells eating eggs(the same eggs just cleaned an refrigerated for 3.50 for 18). Not complaining. Just always makes me scratch my head when I see people charge more for eggs that are less work.(dont have to clean them)

Any way, 11 of the eggs I got from her were fresh from the chickens butt that day, the other 7 came from her fridge as eating eggs. They are all progressing just fine :)

I would love to hatch some eggs for you! You can keep as many as you would like! It's the thrill of hatching them that I am after as I don't really have room for more chickens lol. I would just sell the rest on CL most likely or give some away to other BYC members :). Speaking of, if I do hatch any of these eggs(god willing), they will need new homes. I don't feel right charging people for what I am having so much fun doing, so if any one wants one let me know! I'm trying not to count my chickens before they hatch however and I realize none may make it. Time will tell. At least I feel some relief after candling today.

Thanks!

I am the house that is very close to the creek. Probably about a mile up the road. The house on the left, coming north right before the electric lines. Circle drive and the big steel shop. I am currently adding on to the shed that my chickens are in. I am adding to the right hand side. The side closest to the road. You can definately see it when you drive by. If you are ever coming by and see us running around the property feel free to stop by.

I drop off my daughter every weekday morning at 5:30 AM at the big grey house just north of the tracks. I take the back way occasionally on the way home from work.

Feel free to stop by as well. Let me know first, so I can make sure we're home. With my wife's health issues, we have lots of Dr appointments, and then there are the basketball games until the end of the month.

The Blue/Splash hatched :) That one and the white (which does not look like white yet, it looks very silvery, but this is my first time with Silkie eggs hatching) are hanging out near each other, and do NOT like it when I shine a light in there to see if there has been any progress with the others LOL.

Wendell, your pens look terrific! You certainly got a lot done! Hope the new washer and dryer work well.

Adam7, how exciting that so many are developing! Fingers crossed they all hatch!

samsr, how are the little girls doing?

I was actually picking up three of the BO for one of my friends. I picked up the other three for me The other BO and the araucanas. One of his didnt make it throught the night. We have no idea why. The three I have are all doing fine except for the one with pasty butt. I think we have that pretty much under controll though. I put some ACV in their water 1/2 tsp per quart and am giving her some olive oil orally and in her vent. Friday she just really looked like she wanted to poo and just couldnt. She would just strain and cheap loudly. Now she is passing poo with no problem. We named her constance for being constipated. LOL
I took my girls to pick out two more chicks today. They picked out a black australorp and a speckled sussex. So now we have 9 different breeds.
They are all getting along nicely and running around the brooder like kids on sugar. It sure is cute. My kids like to watch them drink. The chicks stand way up on their feet and put their heads way in the air to get the water down. They chicks sure do grow quickly. One of the aracaunas is quite a bit larger than the one with pasty butt. Just an observation. I will have 14 total if all make it, which at this point, i believe they will.
