I don't really get that one either. Best I can figure they think the vegetarian stuff is cleaner or something. So why do people want to know what you feed your chickens? Don't they realize that when they have any access to the outside, they forage with lots of bugs and gross stuff? I just don't get the question sometimes. Why do people want chickens on vegetarian food?![]()
LOL./ Not just me! we have lots of great active folks here! It's all because of you, WendellWe're catching up with arizona! O.K. Elementary question here. And I'm only asking this because you (Coloradans) are my favorites. One of my Anconas has been sitting in the same nesting box since 6am. When I went to see how many eggs she was hiding she tried to bite my hand. Can you explain to me where broody becomes straight up brutal?![]()
I don't understand why people want chickens to be vegetarians, but I understand why they might not want to have GMO's or corn or soy in thier food. I don't want GMO's in my food so I don't feed it to my animals. Lots of debate on this....So why do people want to know what you feed your chickens? It is my understanding that she is safeguarding the next generation. Just like we are with our kids. They can get VERY protective. I had a BR demonstrating this a month ago. We just picked her up and took the eggs. We wernt ready for a broody hen yet at the time. It didnt take long for her to get over it. I'm not sure if this is the way you are supposed to do it, but it worked for me.It's all because of you, WendellWe're catching up with arizona! O.K. Elementary question here. Just took a drive to the mailbox....
Lots of drifts. But the best thing, is that I noticed that since we put up the fences for the chicken compound, snow (translated: Moisture) retention on the property is about 50% more than in past years! this is WAY good!
