I don't know one thing about frizzle roosters alive. But I have never had a backyard bird, big, little, old, young, that didn't make yummy soup. Even if you don't get much meat I am positive the broth/stock will be devine. I would just skin them and fill a pot...frizzle soup. yum.I have found the offenders of roo attacks in my coop. It is the set of black frizzle roosters. These guys snuggle together and sleep together...and evidentally also pick on the smaller roosters together. I found one tiny silkie rooster down this morning and my larger silkie roo with some spots on his head. I am assuming that the his size saved him as maybe he's 3.5 pounds as the other tiny silkie is just under 3. These frizzle roosters are even tinier than that but they have got to go.
So, is there much eaten on them? If someone wants a set of frizzle black roosters, let me know.
Ordinarily, I'd get all concerned about their fate but not with roosters who cannot get along nice with others.
Ideas/suggestions?
I don't think so either. There was a tall lady with three tall young girls. The girls wanted bantams for 4H. There was an older guy that I talked to for a minute. Next time I'll ask if anyone is on BYC!
How are your chicks doing?
Frizzle soup.... Mmmmmm
My sebright had pasty butt bad for a couple days. I'd just hold her on her back and run warm\hot water on her rear and rub off the paste. So I had my first 2 cases of pasty butt. Both of the cuckoo Marans. All 9 of the other chicks are fine. I feel bad as I didn't notice it yesterday but when I checked this morning it was really caked on there.. It was incredibly difficult to remove. I dipped their butts in warm water and got most of it off, not all but most.
I went and bought yogurt and raw acv. Holy cow does that acv smell horrible!! I mixed it with their water. I also made a mixture of yogurt and crumbles. They haven't tried it yet but I assume they will eventually.
I also bought a smaller feeder tray to make some mash out of the crumbles. I am hoping they don't waste as much and maybe it will help with the pasty butt too.
