Thanks! I am putting your # in my phone just in case. I am praying that we don't have to go, but I won't hesitate to evac it they issue it. Chicken feed and cat carrier at the ready.
OK. If you call after 9, keep calling back. I have my phone set to not ring after 9 unless I get repeat calls from the same number. Don't worry if its late or not. I will move my chicks this evening. The "open" pens don't have "nest boxes" per se, but we can figure something out. (I usually use those as brooding pens)

I am 1/2 mile from the Pre-evacuation line in Falcon. If they evacuate us, I need a place for 5 chickens. I hope it won't come to that, but I just want to be prepared.

You are welcome to bring your girls to my house. I have a 25 x 30 foot run, and an extra coop. Wendy

I have to say, it's very touching how friendly and helpful everyone is on here. It's like we have our own small town right here online. I wish I could be more helpful with the chicken relocations.

Right now, my house is filled with smoke from (at least) one of the fires. It's so thick here I thought we had our own fire here in Parker. The chickens are all hanging out in their hen houses and the dogs are nervous acting. I decided to work from home today, and the rest of this week. I'm glad I was here to calm the dogs down, but it would be a lot easier to breathe if I were at work right now.

On an up note, Bonnie (my Easter Egger that went on strike) started laying again after I posted my "complaint" about her. She was very close to sharing our dinner table this weekend.

Thoughts are with all of you near these fires. Stay safe.

I wish we could offer a stall in our barn as well, but one shift in the wind and we'll be evacuated as well. We had the base calling all hours of the night last night checking on us, which just made me worry more. I hope they get some containment today, last I read they were at 0%.

It is odd, one of the first houses my DH and I loved and were very close to buying is in the middle of the black forest fire. In the last minuet we decide that it was on the small side and that at that price we would not have the money for a year to cut down the trees we needed to to protect the house from a fire. If we had gone with it we would have just moved in when this fire hit. I am amazed how things work out. My heart goes out to those caught up in this, I wish I could offer more then that. The hotel said they allow pets ;) Also FYI Candlewood Suits offers a free room for the night if you lose your home and will call your insurance and arrange payments with them for you.

I think we are in the clear at the moment.

Thanks everyone who offered to house my girls. If you live North of the fire, there are many farms trying to evac their livestock. Many of them are just turning their horses and alpacas loose.

I don't know if there is a link or posting where people can ask for evacuation help, but it is a big problem.

Wow. I just drove through an hour of smoke on the way home from Denver. Hope all is well down south, there

There is room here in Franktown if you need to evacuate. Preston

The winds will be pushing the fire north-west in the am and then mainly north to north-east tomorrow afternoon. They are expected to pick up a bit...... don't know where you are........
