Wow, two pages to catch up on reading! We too had lots of frost last night, I think because of all the moisture in the air. Hope we get a warm spell here this coming week. Birds are back, the wild birds that is, isn't it kinda early???? The little nut hatchs, I think that is what they are, were here all winter, but seeing some bigger wild birds, just hope they can find some food, if not, I will have to feed them too!
I have a few Bantam Cochins still for sale, PM if you are interested. If you live close to Denver, Shylee raises Bantam Cochins, as does Carolyn (sp).
Egg production has picked up here too, but then when it gets super cold, like last night, they slack off for a few days.
Campleader, The little black hen was hatched late summer (I think), and those little ones lay fairly early, at least that has been my experience with Batam Cochins. Also, they go broody fairly early in the year too.
Welcome to all the newbies!!
Pozee, let me know if you have any blue egg layer mixes, I would be interested in one or two!
