I can see a tiny tiny bit, but believe me, we've had some with fully orange backs by his age. So, he should turn out real nice. The two of them could possible make very pretty babies.

They all look lovely!!! Not sure why the little frizzle is black, as I have no blacks in that pen?????

Sandy, one of the chicks I got from your eggs is all black too. I don't know if he is from the frizzle egg or not because he isn't frizzled. The other three are definitely mottled, but this guy is totally black.

Here is a picture of Carters Dad, he was the only other roo I had at the time. The lady I bought him from said he was a Marans. No leg feathering and tips froze this past winter.

I thought she would be mottled when she hatched due to what you said, but it turns out she's not. We still love her though. She goes well with our all white frizzle cochin.

That can't be his dad because from my understanding a black/blue copper hen with any barred roo would produce barred babies. According to the chicken color calculator if the roo was laced (like a barnevelder) with a blue maran hen, a roo like carter would come out.

It will be interesting to see what his kids look like when he breeds with our BCM pullet.
She had a few little white tips when she was little but it all disappeared. It's so fun to see what comes out!
