Yeah!I can see a tiny tiny bit, but believe me, we've had some with fully orange backs by his age. So, he should turn out real nice. The two of them could possible make very pretty babies.

They all look lovely!!! Not sure why the little frizzle is black, as I have no blacks in that pen?????
Love Carter! He looks full Marans!
Quote: Hmmm, I had a black rooster in with them last year, so must be coming from him, he was a frizzle. I don;t think the Frizzle gene carries over into a smooth feathered, I did have my Brown Red in with this group too, did not see him active early this spring, but maybe he was!
Quote: I thought you said she was mottled. If Carter is a pure breed then our split lemon Cuckoo Maransrooster must have fertilized that egg! Congrats on such a pretty well behaved boy!! I have had a few colored like Dinner, one was ver,y very smart, no pen could hold him!
Quote: Ah, well, then he must be from a Marans hen and our Barnevelder! lol She looked mottled in the pictures you sent me, I thought she would be a Black Mottled for sure. They really change colors when you add the MF breeding!
It will be interesting to see what his kids look like when he breeds with our BCM pullet.Ah, well, then he must be from a Marans hen and our Barnevelder! lol She looked mottled in the pictures you sent me, I thought she would be a Black Mottled for sure.
