Welcome to the Colorado thread! By all means please do join the conversation!
Hi from the boulder/Lafayette area! I'm going to keep an eye out for those wild turkeys that were spotted around 75th and valmont!
Currently i have 17 lovely ladies and one lucky rooster with some new arrivals scheduled to join the party in spring. Also going to try my hand at turkeys with some scheduled to arrive in march![]()
2015 is gonna be fun!
Cool wild turkey picture~ I miss seeing the wild turkeys! Not sure they exist in the mountains.
We have blowing snow here today, snowed about three inches yesterday, but the sun is out, so hopefully it will melt away.
Hope everyone is staying warm today!!!

For everyone out here in Colorado, 2X4" roosts with the 4" side facing up is a life saver in the winter!

That's how we set up our roosts as well. It really seems to help the bigger breeds balance, my Cochins seem to bumble around a bit if something is too narrow.
How long till turkeys are butcher ready? Which is easier, males or females? And, what the heck size pot do you use to scald them for removing feathers?
