I read that you want a blue egg laying male...

Yes, specificly one of PC's which would be an Amerecauna. So if we did get a male and they they were bred to our Wellies the. The outcome could be an OE. Sounds fun to me. Just one way to have some OE.

Do you a have any specific breeding ideas or desires?

OK... I was joking about the comment since males don't lay eggs... They may carry a gene that effects them... I'm not much into genetics, so don't know how all that works... Just struck a funny bone when I read "blue egg laying male" If I could get me one of them, I'd be a wealthy man!

edit to say I haven't had much sleep of late, and should be trying right now. My mind may not be functioning at 100%.

Lol, I figured there was a joke involved. Usualy how you roll. ;)

Oh my :) my first hatch didn't pop until day 23?? Last hatch was right on time, I have only 3 chicks still from that one. White bresse, a ccl and looks like a splash polish x ac, but it's splash with only a few black tinged spots on its skin. The last polish x ac I hatched was pure black fibro and still is.

I'm sick now with whatever flu bug my bf brought home. Gah. I barely got the flocks out this morning and feel like death warmed over. With some icy cold and lava hot flashing spots. Yay. And it's raining.

Not sure there are any North Dakotans on here, as this is the Colorado thread, but might be some from ND that have moved here.

C'mon babies, make your debut already! lol

Cool putting your bee hives on the roof like that. Will you let them winter there too? I know nothing about bees!

Cold and snowy here, pretty much over this winter like weather!!!!!

So true!! It's been fun enjoying winter weather in our new house... at least it was the first few times. But now we're over it, and so are our chickens. The run on the one coop caved in with the last big snow (we had two feet), but with the Mr. Fox sighting, I'm not letting them out unless I'm out there. Which, sadly, isn't happening today. I went to check food and water, and they were just like, "really? are you kidding me?"

mine usually start hatching pretty early. I think it's because my incubator gets hotter than 99.5 sometimes. So if ur incubator gets cooler from time to time they might hatch later. That's what I've noticed.
