Your pictures make me want a Polish! Beautiful birds.
They were my first breed of hens & I have to admit I have a soft spot for them. Especially after 1 heard me talking this evening and ran right into the fence thinking she was heading to me. They are a funny breed!

We are OK here @uzisuzuki

Good to see you're doing well.

Again I am in total awe at your beautiful birds.
Stunning creature, absolutely stunning!
I wish I could take credit for them! Well, I may take credit for my baby peas since they are a lot of work (so stubborn). :D My poor male Polish still has the Friar Tuck going because the Egyptian Fayoumi male loves tormenting him. Thinking I need to knit him a hat in case it ever starts feeling like winter down here!

Is/has anyone else had issues with starlings getting into the feed for your chickens? Because it’s been so nice, the starlings are just swarming us here & they are eating everything. The feed bill is outrageous & I'm looking into building some feeders they can’t perch in & eat so much they can’t fly anymore.

Well, it was only 4 degrees F two nights this week and the girls are totally fine without any heat. Soooo, now I can sleep easy the rest of the winter. They are outside eating breakfast right now and it's only about 10 degrees now.

You may have to go with those feeders that the chickens step on to open the top when they want food. We don't have starlings up here. They seem like a pain.
That’s what I was thinking as well. They are a pain! They scatter the food worse than the poultry, and we are going through so much due to waste that I’m at my wits end with them.

I remember when I got started and first saw all the people here saying not to use heat in the coops - I thought I was for sure going to go out in the morning and find a bunch of birdcicles!

Meeee too, totally frozen in place, firmly attached to their perch :lau but apparently they are totally fine. They definitely hang out in the coop more and hide from the wind, but if it's calm and sunny they don't seem to mind the cold itself!

I had a coyote stop by the other night too. It woke me up and I went outside to check on the sheep. All good. Now we have the hotwire up on the new pen so I am very happy and less stressed. I have had a coyote hit the fence and they do not come near it now. I accidentally touched the fence when it was on and OMG! It hurts! I was not a happy camper with that particular brain fart. :rant
