Wow... that seems really cheap! I'd certainly like to give it a shot. I'm going to see if I can get the full ingredient list and protein content. Based on trying to formulate my own blend, it seems like this is too cheap if it's really organic and really the right protein level. However, I really want it to be great stuff! :)

Please let us know what you find out!

I haven't heard back from the seller yet, but I have heard from someone else involved in the Countryside order. He's not certain it's the same place, but has heard bad things (not sure what exactly) about an organic, non-soy feed coming out of Longmont. So, I guess it bears some investigation before buying too much of this.

At this point, I believe I'm going to continue with a Countryside order and pursue this new option in parallel. So if anyone is interested in Countryside, please contact me ASAP.

It does sound a little too good to be true - did your contact say what kind of bad things he heard? Animals getting sick, ingredients not what they are represented to be, bad attitude . . . . . . ?
I'm so glad I have this forum to check things out with people who have more experience than I do.

Unfortunately, no details on WHAT the bad things were. I'm hoping to find out more. It does seem weird that their prices are SO much lower than everywhere else. Especially considering that volume just can't be all the high around here.

I've been in contact with Arkanoid.

This mill is about 5 mi from my house. I'm going to see if they will meet w/ me this weekend to check them out. I'll let you all know what kind of vibe I get from there, and if they have a more complete ingredient list.

I spoke to the guy in Longmont this morning about his feed.

Hopefully Arkanoid can dig up a little more on just what the complaints were. the service, the people running it, the actual feed itself?

He's agreed to let me come by tomorrow, He has an early window that he will be there in the morning, when he normally isn't around at all on the weekends.

He and his prices seem legit, still don't know the quality of it I hope to be able to tell that tomorrow.

His one thing is that it truly is bulk feed, it's not packaged at all, so you either bring your own container (average trash can holds about 150lbs according to him) or he will sell you one. Other than that It doesn't sound like he really has a minimum, although he mentioned that he did "sell about 75 lbs to a guy once"

He seemed very proud that his organic feed is half of others. And said the conventional has higher protein due to the wheat content, So I don't know if that translates into "no wheat" in the organic feed. Again I hope to find that out tomorrow and will report back to you all.

Awesome! Glad your were able to get in touch with him. If you can get an ingredient list, I think it would be most helpful.

I haven't been able to get more details on what people didn't like about this feed. At this point, I think I'm going to forget I heard anything and just look at the product closely. I was hoping to get up there myself tomorrow, but looks like that won't be happening.

I'm very eager to hear what you find there.

Hi, Colorado peeps... anyone know any fanciers in the NW metro area? I just picked up a roo from Table Mtn Animal Center who looks to be a White Cochin Bantam... I can keep him if needed (and if my roosters allow), but thought he might have an owner out there who's missing him.

He was picked up as a stray; I'll try to get exact location. Been missing 6-7 weeks, I gather.

Nice to meet other CO chicken fans...

Sally
