Rockpile, thank you for the clearer explanation fo things! I think it's a great way to add to your own mix. Plus, you can visit the facility for yourself. Thank you for doing the leg work for us!

I see this as a great opportunity to get organic grains at a very good price. I'm assuming there may be times there will be no beans added in at all?

Rockpile, is there a phone # to pass along--I'm thinking I would call him when I am in the area to see what is available. Thank you for checking this out!

Haha. You are very right about lots of opinions. I very much appreciate you taking the time to check into it. I agree with another poster that it's a great way to get some organic grains. I think I will try some myself but use it more like scratch than as the main part of their diet. It never hurts to have another local source of something like this.

Thanks again for checking into it and reporting back.

Wow! Did everyone survive the hail and 80 mile an hour winds that ripped through here lastnight?

Ai yi yi... that was some storm. We still had a couple inches of hail on the ground in places this morning. That was a LOT of rain (and hail) in a short amount of time.

Had a funnel cloud in my neighborhood, never touched down thankfully, but this area is minus a few trees now. On the positive side, I might get a new roof out of it, was picking up shingles all over my property before work. Not a scratch on the chicken coop

Still taking pictures of the damage. The good news is... our just finished coop was snug and dry (which is more than I can say for my roof, paint, fence, and my entire garden)! When the chicks move in (3 weeks) I feel confident they will be safe. I might even need to move in.
