Colorado

Boo on this blizzardy snow! My feet are cold and I don't feel like going outside, but there's chickens to be watered and pigs to be milked! Sigh...

Silly cat!

The two chickens in the garage started making noise the second they heard me in the kitchen. Gave the food/water and they shut up, the little pigs.

I'm too cold to go outside to check on everyone else (the other chickens and 4 goats). But I guess I oughtta. Esp since everyone will probably have ice in their water bowl.

Anyone know how to do a "sun dance" (as opposed to rain dance)?

Guess I should light a fire today. Thank goodness we're expecting 50-degree weather this weekend.

I love this weather! Granted, it's cold out, but really, it is winter in Colorado

I'd druther have the snow than have no snow and another major drought season! Anyone know where I can get free used car tires? I've got several projects I'd like to use them for if I can get my hands on them

We got 10 eggs on Sunday, 4 eggs yesterday, and I just brought in three eggs this morning plus our ee is in the nest bucket

Apparantly they don't hate winter!

Of course, when it's actively snowing they refuse to leave the coop, but once it stops they like to go out in it

We like to use old tires for planters. Usually a local tire shop, like Big-O, will have old ones piled up outside. You need to ask first, tho. Most have an arrangement with someone to come haul them to the dump or wherever, but they usually don't mind us taking a few every now and then.

HI, I am "newish" to chickens...I live in Alamosa, just south of Pueblo in the mountains...I have BR roos and Australorp roos...they were supposed to be all pullets...well they aren't! They are now running at about 20 weeks old...if anyone needs any of these roos, let me know, one is given away, the rest will end up in the freezer very soon...then I will start all over with chicks again in the spring. Does anyone have any EE's they would like to sell /trade?

Hi JodyJo!! My daughter will be going to Adams State next fall on a softball scholarship. Alamosa is very pretty. I wish I could get a roo from you to save one from freezer camp

but can't have them here. And welcome to our CO thread here on BYC.
