Colorado

That's the thing with Grass fires, they move very fast and hot. They behave differently than forest fires or brush fires. There was one in Fountain yesterday as well, but it was contained to only a couple of acres. A guy at work reported who started it to the police. A couple of kids.

There was the Yuma fire last winter....we had family loose livestock in that one. Grass fires move so fast.

Mo, I searched the Restore for months for plexiglass and never found any. BUT...don't forget to go outside in the back. I found several windows laying around out there that had like frames that weren't perfect or some other small defect. When I asked how much they wanted for them they told me to drive my car back and load them up I could have them for free. Ended up not using windows, but unfortunately I've already given them away.

Anyway, free windows never hurt.

Anyway, if you were to build an additional chicken door cover that had a screen on it, you could use that as extra ventilation (in addition to another window with a screen higher on the big side) and as a "chicken" window, and then just insert the solid sliding door at night. Make sense?

GRRR and then last night as soon as the "red flag warning" had expired, Ft Carson starts up their artillery again! I knwo they have to train, and their fire crews are good, but they constantly start fires, and we are less than 1/2 mile from Carson' east fence.

The hatchery Dom pullets were being very friendly last night. They were going after all shoelaces within reach. Fun to watch.
My Gold Buffs love to come up to you when you enter the run. The too like shoe laces, and anything that pokes out.......including fingers!! When I was automating the watering system they were constantly pecking my fingers...I think because they were moving all the time. They get so close I have to push them back to get anything done!!

Nice! My breeder pullets are getting bigger too fast. I am worried I won't have the big coop done in time before they start laying. From what I was toldm that line can start as early as 14-16 weeks! That only gives me 6 - 8 weeks.

Wendell's place is great. I absolutely love his setup and his friendly birds. Ya'll should see his jake. That guy is a terror and so much fun to watch. I may add one of his Dom cockerels developed a liking for me. His birds have such great taste.
