Colorado

WOW! currently at 33.5 hours with no sleep......Instead of our weekly ER visit, we added a Critical Care Unit stay to the regimen........

Ugh, so sorry, that's a tough gig for everyone in the family. No doubt the care was superb, and hopefully the issue was resolved in short order. Keep us posted. As you can see, many people are keeping good thoughts for you and yours.

Hello,
I am new to BYC and live in Aurora, CO. We are not yet allowed chickens or anything other than normal household pets. I am hoping soon we can get that changed to allow chickens and other fowl. In the meantime I continue to learn all I am able about the care of chickens so I will be ready when it is time!

You guys are great! thanks for all the support.

I realized this morning after 7 hours of sleep that at my age (only 50) 7 hours doesn't make up for 40+ hours between sleeping.

I've been at work for a couple of hours and will be back at the hospital very soon.
Beth is still in the Critical Care Unit at Penrose main. Hopefully we can get her out of there and into a regular room today. Chemo has been suspended until the other issues get sorted out, all of which are cancer related. Still waiting for some scan and test results, hopefully today as well.

again, thanks for all the support.

I heard some crowing this morning, so I know I still have chickens...... The kids have been taking care of them, which is good.

the chickens rushed out the coop without realizing it was raining. Once they did, they ran around like crazy and made a bee line for the coop door. lol. They are now hiding in there and i see the occasional head pop out the door and and then its right back in for them. I don't think they like the rain much.
Oh well, they'll venture out when they get hungry/thirsty. All food and water is in the run, under the covered half.

Welcome aboard the chicken addiction boat. :)

What I want to know is why Denver allows 8 chickens and/or ducks - no males and Aurora doesn't.
I don't live in Aurora but close enough. Love to help out where I can.

 Mine did the same, except they ran under the coop instead of back inside. I didn't let Summer out. Three Silkie chicks with no concept of getting wet? I don't want anyone getting sick.

Hehe, they do seem puzzled...heck I almost forgot what rain looked like myself! It's funny...they squawk and make lots of noise when it's cloudy but they just making little "woe is me" sounds today. They're mostly huddled under the coop and looking out mournfully.

My mountain chickens must be weird because it is party city up here in the rain and fog. Even the 6 week old meaties are outside playing. On another note, my neighbor's pig scared the pants off of me yesterday. I am in the habit of scanning for big critters whenever I step out my door, but I missed the little pot-bellied pig until it squealed and spun around in the grass. Not what a girl expects to have happen in her day so I proceed to scold "Grunters" and then of course, I fed him some peas out of the garden cause he is soooo cute!
