I bought 7 Colored orpingtons from TSC last year got 6 hens 1 roo. They look like lavender orpingtons and when they were 3-4 months of age had a lavender tint on their backs and neck. Now they are just mixed light to dark and most have darker grey heads. I've been reading and instead of lavender heard that they may be a cross with a blue orpington? They lay eggs daily usually on smaller side around 45-58 grams. It's freezing cold out but they keep laying consistently. Just wondering if they really are Lavender or maybe blue. And what will they look like crossed with RIR and or Wellsummer cross olive egger. They could also be bred by the orpington roo although he is 6 weeks younger but sure is trying.
