I just read this whole thread and am very impressed and thankful for it. This is why I'm on BYC!! Thanks again Harp!

Great that is why I did it. Seems when I wanted to do some there was no info on them, so I figured I was not the only one that had ??'s about them.

NO I have not. I woulsd like to but you have to mail in a money order and can't oreder off line, so that puts me out as it is an inconvenience and I'm too lazy to do the extra work involved.

Harp Turkey Ranch.... How Does The Premier Netting Work? Do You Have Any Trouble With The Chickens Flying Over The Top Of It? Thinking Bout Getting It For My Mixed Flock So They Can Free Range More Without Having To Worry About Predators. What Is Your Opinoin? Tks For Your Time And Advice In Advance!

I can answer about the Premier netting, as I also used it for my 102 rangers.

I got the 42" poultry net, white and black.

The birds never flew over the top of it.

I introduced them to it on a wet day, so they'd get a good jolt and learn. The did, quickly. (Notsomuch true of the ducks, which are much stupider.)

It did a great job of night security. ZERO predator losses.

It also easily contains my goats.

It was easy to move -- definitely watch the web video and do it exactly as instructed.

Not too hard to get it to stand taut, with a little practice.

If your ground is rock-hard, carry a drill with a sacrificial bit a little smaller in diameter than the spike, and pre-drill holes for the spikes.

I got the NZ-made charger that Premier sells as a kit with the netting -- love it. Runs on house current or battery or can be hooked to a solar unit.
