Coloring a Chick for Easter - CAUTION GRAPHIC & CRUEL (Not real: Joke)

Wow Don, I'm so glad you posted this method! I think it will be a lot easier and cheaper than what I was doing.

Up to now, I was buying pre-dyed feather boas from Hobby Lobby, and superglue tubes in bulk.

Then, I'd take the chicks and a lighted match and burn off the baby fluff so the chick was naked - just like burning off pin feathers before roasting a chicken.

Next I'd take the chick and, holding by one toe, dip headfirst in a cup of super glue. Then drop into a box of the feathers clipped off the feather boas. The superglue would seal off the burns quite nicely as well as hold the brighly colored feathers on.

Of course, YOUR method seems a lot cheaper than mine. You know how many little tubes of super glue you have to get to fill up a cup enough to dunk in a baby chick??!!?? And the stuff keeps drying too fast and then I'd have to fill up the cup again and again...

Thanks again for the tip!

That would be your loss, not mine.

I used to just dump them in a paint can and fish them out, but now i'v moved up to spray paint and microwaves.

PC means well. You need to know what he is trying to say. I understand what he is saying in this thread.

If you people like this kind of sick persons humor. then more power to you. I have a life! Chickens are wonderful and I have several but I have more in my life than this kind of crap.
I joined this site for help and friendship but it seems that every time I log on, I get some stupid crap from someone without a life or a sense of humor. I will go to a site dedicated to the well being of chickens and making friends.

My friend, I think you better reevaluate what "sense of humor" actually means.

then go change sites. To me this is the best board in the internet world but if you can find a sence of humor then see yah. Not trying to be rude but I love my chickens more than anyone could love a chicken. I raised almost every single one by egg.
