In all seriousness...
Knowing Don (Purple Chicken) from months on the forum now, I can say that MY interpertation of his REAL intent on this thread is to point out the absolute senselessness of coloring chicks for Easter that is done by some of the large hatcheries.
Many of us here just sort of scratch our heads about WHY the hatcheries dye chicks around Easter time. YES they are really cute, but all they do is create a impulse buyer's market and de-sensitize some to the "REALNESS" of baby chicks.
It's true that some of them will go to people who are really chicken people. But you can't argue that a fair number of them end up going to places where they live a pretty miserable existence with inadequate care or too much 'lovin' from unsupervised children.
People who REALLY want chicken babies see them just as cute un-dyed. Anyway, there are lots of previous thread on this subject.
Don has a way of bringing attention to serious topics through humor. I dare say that is his intent here. Or maybe just to make us all think a little bit. I for one, also find that approaching life with a way-out sense of humor makes learning and thinking about serious topics a bit more fun.
Of course, I could be completely wrong here - he may just be wanting to show off his photoshop skills again...
