Colors that attract chickens

Something you might consider is whether chickens have an appreciation of geometric designs.
I know someone who did paint their coop. They painted a 'jungle' scene inside, roof walls, the lot. Not only did they paint it, they added features that became part of the scene they painted; the perches for example were a continuation of a painted tree.
If you are artistically inclined something like the above might be interesting.

Paint; most are poisonous to chickens. They may not peck at it but I prefer not to paint the inside of coops or coat/cover with anything a chicken may peck at and ingest.
As long as it doesn't peel it should be fine, lots of folks paint the interior parts of a coop.

Except for the cedar shingles my coop is painted powder green and blue, the color of EE eggs, inside and out. There is a large window on the south wall that both roosts butt up against. and my birds love it. On colder days they usually spend most of their time inside. So I guess I got something right.

In fact the only dark places in it are the nesting areas.

It's a Tractor supply coop. This is when I first bought it. It's set up VERY different now. Much more secure but this is it when I first assembled it. The box I built will go under the coop that is above. I reinforced the hell out of this cool. Two layers of stepping Stones underneath, hardware mesh nailed to the bottom, etc, etc.

Ok. Got the nesting box/extra shelter installed. Looks ok. Like someone earlier mentioned I may need to put up a 6" wall to keep the bedding in. If they EVEN touch it I will probably do that.

Ah, I see now.
Yeah, nests on the ground you don't need perches, but a front lip 4-6" will keep bedding and eggs (both fake and real) in the nest.
How many and how old are your birds?

I have three hens. Ruby is a little over a year old and Blue and Annabelle are 6 months old.
