Colourful and Unusual Chicken Eggs!

This is a thing?
This is a thing!:barnie
Wish I had known.:hit
The first goose eggs I kept natural but then I took some spray paint to the others after I drained them. If you aren't going to eat the egg (like some boiled eggs for Easter) then spray paint or other enamels do great.

So pretty! So you poke holes and blow them out? Then paint them? If they are blown out or drained you can still eat them can't you? Or do you paint them still full?

I blow them out and make scrambled eggs. I do rinse the inside really well with cold water. You don't want hot as you could cook what's on the inside instead of rinse it out. I've never had a smelly one.

When my kids were young, I think my son was maybe 8, we boiled, colored, and hid Easter eggs. One was never found until he was about 16. It was in the top of our pendulum wall clock. It was in perfect condition and didn't smell. The egg inside must have dried and shrunk. I still have that egg. My son is now 42.

This threads is for posting about your chickens and the different kinds of eggs they lay.
From Leghorns to Black Copper Marans to Easter Eggers - whatever the breed, I’d love to see what others hens lay, as each egg is unique. I’ve always been interested in egg colours, and I though it would be great to share photos on a thread just for this purpose.

I’ll get started... below are photos of my hens eggs

Goose eggs are REALLY tough shelled. I used a drill (I think it was called a "drimmel drill??") or something. You have to make a hole on both ends. It still does not come out easy. I finally just would use water to clean it out but it did take along time to get them clean on the inside. One I didn't get as clean as I thought and ....gross....flies got in it.
