Ok, I'm obsessing over Buffy being a roo. There are times it's waddle and comb are very reddish, then it's not so much. It's slightly larger than Gingers and tends to have more color, but it comes and goes. Am I seeing things or is she/he playing tricks on me? They're a little over 4 wks now and the most difference between the two are the sound they make when chirping. Buffy's more deeper. Chirp and the slightly bigger comb and color.

I have pix but I swear by the time he/she had stopped eating, the color faded and they looked almost the same again. WTH?

This is Buffy. by the 'ear' was red too. I swear it was redder before I went and got my camera. Maybe cause it's cool outside today?

Full Ginger body shot and head shot

And all the chicks. Buffy is sitting, Ginger behind them. The four white leghorns that are now marked w/ food color to try and tell them apart, which is fading fast.

Anywho. I'm sure it's too early, but the color coming and going has me scratching my head. I don't want to have to get rid of any of them.

You ever figure this out? I have two hens or maybe not ..... I am having the same problem with different colors and deep red at times I think one is a boy lol
