Hi everyone, i have been observing my hen's comb turning from normal red comb into something like this since she raised her first egg clutch (now pullets), can anyone tell me if it's normal or if it's a specific disease i should cure? also is this infectious? can i handle it bare hand? Thank you!

Do you have a rooster, or could hens be pecking at her comb? What have your lowest temperatures been at nighttime? Frostbite is common during these months, and it could be healing frostbite.
I just noticed that she seemed to have a beef with another hen and they peck each other quite violently. I got a bruise from trying to separate them and i noticed her comb is bleeding quite badly. I live in a tropical climate so i doubt it's due to the cold. Do you think it was a scar from a fight I wasn't aware of?
