I haven't seen a thread dedicated to the odd combs and wattles of our peeps, so I decided to start one to show off the combs and wattles of my boys. How about sharing yours too?

This is Opal, my White Plymouth Rock hen. She has always had significantly larger wattles and a larger comb than her sister from even when they were little chicks.

This is my roo, Jasper. His comb is HUGE! Its almost 3 inches tall. His wattles are HUGE, too!

wow Chicklover 98, you're right, his comb and wattles are HUGE. WoW. But he sure is handsome. What breed is Jasper?

Does anyone know if the comb and wattles have any correlation to testosterone levels? I guess with age, the combs and wattles get more pronounced, and some hens also have bigger combs and wattles than their sisters too. Maybe it has something to do with hormones. Just guessing.
