congrats on all the new chicks! I go into lock down tonight! Still can't see into most of the Marans eggs, but I can see well defined air cells in a couple of them; same with a couple of the EEs I'm afraid a couple of those have quit but not pulling anything out unless it stinks!

My bantam girl gave up on her clutch about 10 days into it. I am sad and disappointed, but sort of happy at the same time. Hers were set to hatch just as we were heading out of town for Thanksgiving, so I guess it's all OK.

Sorry to hear. Couldn't you have put them in an incubator?

One of the eggs under my broody Buff Brahma pipped this morning...can't wait to see how the rest go and if they will sit tight and be good moms..

The clutch was way under an old log building and I can't reach the nest or eggs. I wish I could have - it would have been fun!

I think one of my eggs is carrying TWINS!! These are copper Maran eggs and there appears to be two individual "eyes" moving simultaneously but super close to each other... I'm really hoping both hatch out or atleast one... My broody partridge Cochin bantam is setting them but she allows me to touch them so I should be able to assist when the time comes! Any suggestions/ideas... Anyone successfully hatch twins following this thread?

There is a video on Youtube where a lady assists in hatching twins out. Both of them lived too!!!

I am just in shock right now.

5/5 Araucana eggs that went into lockdown have hatched!!! All 10 of my Marans eggs have either pipped or hatched.
